None but I rule the sky,
No Hawk nor Eagle,
Nor sparrow, nor swallow,
Nor man with machine,
Can match my skill.
None can follow.
No creature of Earth or Sea
Can turn with me
Nor match my speed.
The Quail is aloft
And cannot see me on high
above the clouds where I fly.
I wish you could understand what it is to be me,
a bird of prey
that hunts at such velocity.
With folded wings,
I roll and plumet toward the bird so frail.
Gravity is my ally,
no force of G is a concern for me.
Twisting and turning
within the tumultuous air
that buffets and flows
over wing and feather.
Time has no meaning
As I streak at an angle of
Impossible recklessness.
Plummeting vertically
From heaven’s azure hue
A strike in mid-flight
Like a flash of lighting.
The prey has no time for pain,
or fright.
So poor is man,
adhered to his land,
He is forced to use machines to imitate my grace.
Of my way he can barely understand.
I sore above his fake towers,
His smoke and decay,
With beauty and spirit
Not taking what is not given
Of mother’s rich display.
Seek me on a clear day
Above the ground against
The shimmering blue.
If you are lucky
You will see me plunge
To feed my young
I will take your breath away.
Blinding Speed

You are welcome as always Candie, thanks for stopping by.
What a thing it must be to move at speeds exceeding 200 mph without the aid of a machine. If I could be anything else than human, this fantastic creature would be at the top of my very short list.
Another great poem seen through the eyes of one of Earth's treasures.
Thanks Not Telling :)
trooper I love the dance you did for Cindys birthday http://hubpages.com/forum/topic/14999?page=5#post1
I loved it Trooper, you words are like melting butter.
So a Falcon in my next life, thanks for helping me decide.
BP, thanks for the compliment :)
Randy, where's the Hips!? I miss the hips! Not that the rest of you isn't attractive as well :) I am right there with you about the next life. Those videos are amazing.
Really, I should lose this avatar and go back to the last one?
That's a tough call....hmm. Well, if I had to choose between the two, I would choose the last one, but either way you're hot. I leave it to you, I am just a kid in a candy store :)

Fantastic!! The closest we have here are the Osprey, larger but equal in stealth and speed. Fewer things are more majestic in the sky! Thanks Trooper!
