Northstar at Tahoe Ski Resort in California
72A Review of Northstar at Tahoe Ski Resort in Tahoe, California
Northstar Ski and Snowboard Resort in Tahoe, California has become a favorite destination for our family. The family friendly resort offers a wide variety of activities and high-end amenities. The children's Kids Club is first class. Our six year old had a great time and the instructors and staff are amazing! There's also a village at the base of the mountain with shops, food, ice skating, rentals, and fire pits. Even if you're not skiing, it's a great place to visit and walk around.
Northstar Tahoe Village Winter Activities
The Northstar village offers an abundance of activities for the family. Free ice skating (rentals are available for a charge if you don't have your own skates); free bungee jumping; live music on the weekends; free wine tasting on Saturdays at Grapes + Grounds wine and coffee bar; fire pits with surround seating overlooking the skating rink; DJ music (Tuesdays feature 70s and 80s music around the rink); and plenty of shopping and eateries.

Have you been to Northstar? What did you think?
I love NorthStar, and it's proximity to Truckee. We've had our daughter in kid ski lessons at NorthStar and Squaw. I was really impressed with the number of kid instructors and how well they worked with the kids when they weren't skiing at NorthStar. For a family ski vacation in Tahoe, it's hard to beat NorthStar for all the amenities, but it is pricey.
Thanks, Jonixk. I'll check it out. ;)
Robin it sounds absolutely super. Maybe on my next trip to the USA I must take time out to have a break there.
Incidently you how cool I felt reading about it as I am sitting here in a temp of 38 degrees.
Thank you Diana
Hi Diana,
If you're in California, the Sierra Nevadas are a must see. They are beautiful. Thanks for reading! Cheers! ;) Robin
I love everything about Tahoe. It is a very good vacation destination even if you dont ski. Tahoe has some great resturants and get away sites to go and explore.
Gret Hub
I think this is a nice place to visit. maybe someday I''ll go there. thanks for posting this article. very informative.
I'm glad you did this hub. I haven't skied NorthStar since the 90s. Back then, I remember locals calling it "FlatStar". Is this still true?
