Not Commercial - Herbal Skin Care
64Growing up (and even some today) I have fought horrible, terrible, acne scarred, dried out, flaky, rashy, burned from not using indoor tanning lotion, pasty, not sexy skin. Lucky for me I love experiments and have tried lots of different medications (though any medication where the doctor told me I'd have to go in for liver biopsies I figured I was better off with rough skin).
I started off with most of the standard face cleaners (the ones with the alcohol smelling pads in the containers) those mostly just dried out my skin. The dried out skin caused me to use over the counter face moisturizers which are mostly filled with oils, which made the whole skin care problem worse..

Sadly My Mother Was Right (Again)
After trying a bunch of pills, scrubs, etc the two absolutely best things I did was
- Quit Touch My Face - I don't need to scratch my nose, rub my eyes, rub my own sore shoulders, none of it. All that does is transfer nasty oils from my fingers to my delicate :) skin.
- Drink More Water - My 9 soda a day and a gallon of milk drink selection wasn't working well, when I quit to only water for 30 short days my skinned cleared significantly.
The other things that helped were more natural face masks, especially avocado. What a better evening then nachos and clear skin? Avocados pretty much suck the nastiness right out of your face. Honey seemed to help with redness also. If I would of done this more religously I probably wouldn't need acne scar removal now.
My vote is to keep things simple, if you need more moisture you probably need more water, if your oily you probably need to consume or be around less oils.
