I remember a time when marriage was a commitment for life, a couple would work through problems no matter how difficult and learn to forgive.  Sadly in the world today that is no longer the case, marriage now seems temporary until something better comes along.  There are very few couples that I know whom have not been married more than once.  Are we just that impatient in today's gotta have it now society that we can not wait to make sure the person standing next to us at that alter truly is the right one? 

Our instant gratification society has created an era in which it is easier than ever to cheat on a spouse.  Thanks to the internet those desperate enough can have a cyber-sex affair without ever having to leave the house, social net working sites make it easy to "hook up" for a one night stand.  The fact that they are married is a complete afterthought for both the cheating spouse and the "other" party.  One can take on a completely different persona via the computer and be who ever one wants them to be. 

In my marriage of 16 years my husband has cheated on me with the use of the internet 3 times, we have tried to work through it each time and I have done my best to forgive and trust him again.  He informed me not long ago that he has not been happy in most of our marriage and that he is moving out because he "needs a break".  If anyone needs the break it is me, I have had to deal with this compulsion over and over again. 

That is fine take your break, give yourself time to figure out what would make you happy.  Meanwhile I will continue to be the mom, full-time college student, and work to cover what bills I can.  I have already resigned myself to the fact that this marriage is over, nothing lasts forever, not even love.  I am strong and unwavering in my desire to not be with someone who can not be faithful to me and I will come out as the better person.

I will be fine, yes, I will be fine.  It wont be easy but it will make me stronger.  In the end nothing lasts forever.
