Wide Mouth Nuby Sippy Cup Replacement Spouts
Nuby Wide Mouth Sippy Cup Replacement Spouts are HOT!
Nuby baby products, a division of Luv 'n Care, based in Monroe Louisiana, has come out with a second line of products, their Nuby replacement spouts wide mouth.
These spouts are made of soft silicone and babies love them. The spouts measure two and three quarters inches across and are made to fit the two handled 10 oz Nuby no spill sippy cups.
They come factory sealed in little plastic baggies and are sold with one in a package. It's a good idea to order more than one so you can save on shipping when ordering online. http://www.shop.nubysippycup.com for the best prices because they have a low price matching guarantee.
If you are deciding on buying them, it is very important that you measure the spouts you already have. I've tried to fit them to other brands, but they don't fit correctly and may leak. There are other two handled Nuby sippy cups, including a 7 oz cup with two handles, but these Nuby wide mouth replacement spouts do NOT fit those cups.
Babies and toddlers love these spouts because they feel soft, much like a soft nipple they may have been used to when using a baby bottle. Order more than one to save on shipping.
Facts You Must Know About Your Nuby Wide Mouth Replacement Spouts
There are things you should know to do as a parent.
1. If your baby or toddler is chewing on the spouts, take the cup away from them or divert their attention. They are not made to chew on because chewing can break the valve and cause the cup to leak.
2. Make sure you check the color of the spouts. If the spouts become cloudy, it's time to replace them.
3. Your sippy cup should not leak. If it is leaking, please check to make sure the spout is firmly in the goove before twisting the cup shut. Also, if you twist the cup shut too hard, it may cause the cup to leak. Just twist it until it closes shut. No need to overdo it.
4. When you place the sippy cup in a diaper bag or against a car seat, make sure the spout is not pressing on anything. Pressing on the spout causes the valve to open and the liquid to come out. I always put my sippy cups in a zip lock baggie just in case. That is not a defect. It's just how the cup works.
5. Don't throw your sippy cup away until it becomes cloudy. Use the nuby wide mouth sippy cup replacement spouts instead. That way you will be saving our landfills from more plastic, even if it is bpa free.
6. The soft silicone wide mouth spouts are bpa free. Why? Silicone is not plastic. Silicone does not contain bpa (bisphenol A) at all so the spouts are naturally bpa free.
7. Don't put your sippy cup in the dishwasher. Even though you can, I've found that the cup and the spouts will last much longer if you just hand wash them.
8. When hand washing, if you are using a bottle brush, beware that you can split the valves in the spout if you are not careful. I find that using a very strong stream of hot water one way, then flipping the spout over and putting the stream of water and a bit of dish detergent on the other side, cleans the valves with no problem. If you've let the valves and sippy cup sit until the liquid inside has crusted on the cup, just soak both in hot water until the icky stuff loosens. Then clean the spouts with the hard water stream and the sippy cup itself with a bottle brush. This will help to prolong the amount of time your wide mouth replacement spouts will last.
