Established in 1919, the Oklahoma Hospital Association represents more than 130 hospitals and health care entities across the state of Oklahoma. OHA's primary objective is to promote the welfare of the public by leading and assisting its members in the provision of better health care and services for all people.
OHA provides a variety of membership services including legislative tracking and representation, communications, educational programs, information and data, quality resources, workforce shortage initiatives and more.
In addition to hospitals, other members include: health care systems, nursing homes, home health agencies, surgery centers, and businesses which have an interest in health care.

Whether you are a new college student coming straight out of High School, a registered nurse seeking a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree, or a non-nurse seeking a degree, the OU College of Nursing has a plan for you. Coursework is delivered via a combination of classroom instruction and Internet based instruction. For the undergraduate programs, Internet-based instruction in non-clinical courses ranges from 50% to 90%. In the graduate programs, courses range from 50% to 100% online. The OU College of Nursing has been named a 2006-2009 Center of Excellence by the National League for Nursing, and strives to help students achieve their goals, and begin a career in a lucrative field. DEGREE PROGRAMS AND ACCREDITATION
PROGRAMS
Oklahoma City University's Kramer School of Nursing offers the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), the Master of Science of Nursing (MSN), and a PhD in nursing, summarized below. For more information, click on the specific program in the left-hand column under "Program Information."
GATEWAY PROGRAMS: YOUR GATEWAY INTO THE NURSING PROFESSION
The Traditional BSN is a standard four-year undergraduate degree leading into the nursing profession, whether you are a traditional student or not! Upon completion students are eligible to apply to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) to begin work as RNs.
The Part-Time BSN is an evening and occasional Saturdays program for people who want to continue working full time or who need to be at home during traditional school hours. Upon completion students are eligible to apply to take the NCLEX to begin work as RNs.
The Bachelor’s-to-BSN is an accelerated 16-month program for people who already have bachelor’s degrees in other fields. Upon completion students are eligible to apply to take the NCLEX to begin work as RNs.
PROFESSIONAL ADVANCEMENT PROGRAMS: FOR NURSES SEEKING HIGHER DEGREES
The RN-to-BSN program is an opportunity for Registered Nurses to complete the BSN degree in as little as nine months through nursing classes that meet just one half day a week.
The Master of Science in Nursing, Nursing Education Track, is a 33 credit hour graduate program preparing nurses to become faculty or educators in health care organizations.
The Master of Science in Nursing, Nursing Administration Track, is a 33 credit hour graduate program preparing nurses to become executives in health care organizations. We also offer the state's only MSN/MBA option.
The PhD focuses on Nursing Education, and is a 90 credit hour post-baccalaureate program that prepares nurses to become career academicians. As many as 33 credit hours from a master's degree in nursing or a related field can be applied to the PhD requirements.* ACCREDITATION AND APPROVALS These quality baccalaureate and master's degree programs are fully accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission, Inc., 3343 Peachtree Road NE, Suite 500, Atlanta, Georgia 30326, (404)975-5000, or www.nlnac.org. The Oklahoma Board of Nursing has granted full approval for Kramer School of Nursing to offer programs leading to licensure as a Registered Nurse. Gateway program graduates who have earned the Bachelor of Science in Nursing are eligible to apply for the NCLEX-RN required to become licensed as Registered Nurses. Contact information for the Oklahoma Board of Nursing: 2915 Classen Boulevard, Suite 524, Oklahoma City, OK 73106-5437; (405) 962-1800; www.ok.gov/nursing. *Accreditation of the PhD program is pending approval by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCA) and will be determined in December 2009. Although NCA has authorized Oklahoma City University to begin offering the PhD courses in August 2009, Oklahoma City University does not guarantee final approval of the PhD in nursing program by NCA, and offers a full refund of tuition paid by students who take the Philosophy of Science and/or Advanced Health Care Policy courses in Fall 2009 if the PhD in nursing is not approved.
