MAX - Max dog food come in dry and canned formula. It is made up of natural ingredients and vitamins and minerals that are vital to your dog's health. Its chicken meal, unlike other products, does not contain chicken heads, feet, or intestines. Also, rice and wheat are used instead of ground corn to facilitate digestion.

Natural Choice - Nutro Products had invested eighty years' worth of knowledge and experience to create a scientific formula that would provide the best diet for dogs. Input from leading nutritionists and veterinarians had also been considered during the research and development process. The result: dog food that's easy to digest, tastes better, and makes your dog enjoy a healthy beautiful look inside and out.

Ultra Holistic Nutrition - The process of how Ultra Holistic Nutrition works on keeping your dogs healthy is a fascinating one. It starts with combining the three most important animal proteins: chicken, lamb, and salmon. One out of three is good, two out of three is better, but providing all of the above is still the best for your dog. Now, a few pet dog owners might question the inclusion of salmon. It is an uncommon ingredient in pet dog food, but what few people don't know is that salmon contains essential amino acids which enhance the dog's strength and growing abilities.

It doesn't end there though. Ultra Holistic Nutrition is more than just protein-rich dog food. It also comes with that numerous essential nutrients obtained from natural green sources like vegetables and flowers. Dogs may not be herbivores but that doesn't mean they won't benefit from consuming greens. These sources offer dogs important antioxidants which keep their systems free from harmful toxins. It can also help prolong the lives of your pets, allowing more time for you and your dog to enjoy in each other's company.

Controversies Surrounding Nutro Dog Food

2007 has not been exactly a perfect year for the company. Last July, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) had prevented entry to the US of over a hundred dog and cat food products from Nutro Products. The incident took place at the Port of Los Angeles and the FDA's Import Refusal Report detailed the products' potentially unsafe content as the reason for its blocked entry.

Products included on the Import Refusal List of FDA are Adult Large Breed Chicken and Rice and Adult Turkey with Chicken Liver.

In response to the allegations, Nutro acknowledged that the products stated on the list were those affected by Menu Food's product recall in March 2007 due to its melamine-tainted contents. Menu Food had also publicly admitted that its experiments had resulted into a number of deaths of animal subjects. Nutro also stated that it immediately discontinued all sales of affected products.

Furthermore, the Mojave Desert Air Quality Management had recently given Nutro Pet Products an ultimatum regarding its plant in Victoryville: the pet food company is now required to solve its odor problems no later than December 31, 2008 or face legal consequences.
