Why is it Nutro Natural Choice Chicken, Rice & Oatmeal Formula has been pulled from the shelves (79105 37306) and not re-supplied? Is there a problem with this batch also? This is my 4th attempt to receive some feed back. Who would you like me to call or inquire with if you do not have the answer?

Regards,

R. Paul

Richard,

I am not sure what the reasoning is for this product to be recalled but I would guess there must be a problem.  This company has a history of recalls long before the recalls of 2007 so it would not surprise me in the least if their rice was the cause for the recall. or

Please advise me if Nutro MAX chicken, rice & vegetable dinner (weight control) has been pulled from shelves and if you have ever had any problem with this product.

Thank you.

Y. Brittsan,

I don't have any more information on the product you asked for but keep in mind these products are all made from the same company. I wouldn't feel safe feeding this stuff to my dogs.

Is it still your position that Nutro is not safe? Many Nutro brands have a 10 out of 10 rating in your review list. Is this inconsistent?

Thanks!

Kristi,

You are speaking of my older reviews (10/10) which were written before all the scandal of Nutro came to be known.  I am working on writing pet food reviews using the Pet Food Danger Gauge to rate the products.

Nutro pet foods are far from safe.  Nutro falls well below any safe pet food level.

Well anyone can write a god damn review after the scandals and everything come out? Are you kidding me? What are you doing with your life, besides wasting it.

I have fed my german short hair this dog food for years and he is now ten (human years). The last few years he has been extremely sick and thought i was going to have to put him down. I had gone to the vet numerous times and finally on a last ditch effort changed his food. He is a new dog like a puppy again.

After two years of continuing to kill our pets, regardless of the useless lawsuits, Nutro is still producing their poison-- does anyone care? Certainly not the FDA, AAFCO or any other company claiming to be in charge. Here on this website (below), Nutro is being investigated and the date today is May 9, 2009! Why is this company still in business? Are all the complaints and lawsuits falling on deaf ears? What's it gonna take for America to truly regulate the pet food industry? It's a real shame that this issue is swept under the rug. Is it because it's too big for the government to handle? Are we suppose to ignore it and hope for the best while countless, innocent pets are dying? C'mon "regulators", if you exist, shut this evil company down and start setting an example for all the pet food manufacturers out there, it's common sense!

To Robert and Cheryl,

I am so very sorry for the loss of your beloved Ringo :( It breaks my heart to know you lost him because of such an evil company like Nutro. They are truly hateful people and will go on killing our pets for profit because they know the FDA won't stop them. Unfortunately, America has a very weak regulating system and our pets are suffering for it. We, as pet parents, have to do our own homework by researching the companies and the pet foods we choose, staying away from the products who's companies have any controversy surrounding them. I would keep all your vet bills, Nutro receipts, bags/cans, treat bags/boxes if you have any (including the poisoned food). Please do NOT send it to Nutro for testing. They do not test any food people send them, they are only too happy to confiscate your proof. Someday, hopefully, something will be done about this evil company and your proof will be helpful in a lawsuit. I am so sorry for your loss. I pray someone with authority steps up to the plate soon and takes action against this despicable company.

P.S. Please forgive me for bringing this up at such a bad time but after researching this particular website we are on (HubPages) I have to warn you not to use "AskSusanPeters" for legitimate advice on pet food. Susan Peters is a pet groomer and is not qualified in pet nutrition. She is only using this site to earn money (if people click onto the Ads on her pages). She has caused a great deal of confusion to her readers by contradicting her ratings. A lot of people are furious. Please spread the word to your family and friends if they are researching pet foods. It's sad how some people (and companies) are willing to go to any length in order to make money. If money isn't the root of all evil, it sure does bring out the evil in a lot of people.
