This is my absolute favorite oatmeal raisin cookie recipe! If you don't like raisins, leave them out. No big deal! Good enough to make your grandma jealous!

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c flour
  • 1 c Shortening
  • 1 c Brown sugar
  • 1 c Granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Baking soda
  • 1 tbsp Cinnamon
  • 3 c Oats (Don't use instant)
  • 3/4 c chopped walnuts
  • 1 c raisins
  • 2 beaten eggs
  • 1 tbsp vanilla

Directions

  • In a bowl combine shortening and sugars, add eggs and vanilla and beat well.
  • Sift flour, salt, baking soda and cinnamon in to bowl and mix well.
  • Add raisins, nuts and oats, mix well.
  • Spoon out by rounded balls (about 1 tbsp each) on to greased cookie sheets.
  • Bake at 350°F for 10 minutes.

I love raisins and oatmeal, too. So I'm glad they can mix deliciously together. I did a hub with lots of oatmeal cookie recipes because I was inspired with yours. Thanks!
