I'll tell you why Barack Obama sat in the Church of Reverend Jeremiah Wright, without batting an eyelash through 20 yrs of inflammatory rabble rousing. He's an atheist and he doesn't give a hoot about religion. His Mother, Stanley Anne Durham was an atheist from an early moment in her life. Senator Obama's maternal gradparents are atheists as well and they helped to raise him. When he was a community activist in Chicago, he received a lot of invitations to join churches. Now, on a personal note, after I had gone through a very harrowing experience in my life in the 80's, I also set out to "find the truth." The religion that I had been raised in, Catholicism, just didn't seem to have the answers for the life crises that I had been through. So I joined the Hare Krsna movement in Boston and when I wasn't satisfied with the teachers I found there, I made my way to San Francisco and then to India, where i met my Master, Srila Bhakti Raksak Sridhar dev Goswami. So, you see, "finding the truth" is not just a simple thing. So, personally, my conclusion is that if Senator Obama was actually looking for the truth, then how could he settle for someone like Reverand Wright who is so obsolete and unhinged, who obviously has many unhealed scars. And because he is not healed, how can he heal others? Frankly, I don't think Senator Obama gives a hoot about religion. So what? Thomas jefferson said "It does me no injury for my neighbor to say there are 20 gods, or no God. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg.... It is error alone which needs the support of government. Truth can stand by itself. Subject opinion to coercion, and whom will you make your inquisitors? Fallible men, governed by bad passions, by private as well as public reasons. And why subject it to coercion? Difference of opinion is advantageous to religion." So, the Founding Fathers were open to all religions even to those with no religion. But the clever Senator Obama figured that he could ride on the wings of the Church into his political career. And, that he did. Most experts agree that being an atheist would prevent one from being elected tot he highest office in the land. There is only one atheist in all of congress according to Pat Buchanan, political commentator.

Now, in distinction to the "convenient conversion" of Barack obama, we witnessed just this Easter a very brave Muslim, Magdi Allam, converting to Catholicism. In fear for his life, he wrote about how, at the early age of four, his Muslim mother sent him to Catholic school where he studied the Bible and the Gospel. He also speaks of the truth of the condition of many Muslim converts who have to remain in hiding and to keep their faith a secret due to the fear of assassination. Now, several things differentiate his "conversion' from Barack Obama's. First, he added the middle name "Christian". A simple, but profound and common occurrence upon conversion. When I asked why Barack Hussein Obama had not added a Christian name or changed his middle name, I was barraged with all sorts of explanations of how his name was really Christian, even though it is his father and grandfther's Muslim name. Just another example of "Obamamania."

Nobody knows about Bush being religious as well, he used Christian religion only at the time of elections.
This all goes to assessing the judgment of the candidate. There are, obviously thousands of churches in chicago that senator Obama could have chosen. what he did choose reflects his character and beliefs, don't you think? If he had wanted to become president of the US from an early age, I would think that he would have chosen a more conservative Church, that wouldn't compromise his chances. He is severely compromised now.

But who are you to make that sort of assessment? Is Reverend Wright any more unhinged or obsolete than those religious types that pander to the right, like Pat Robertson or the late Jerry Falwell? The things they've said regarding 9/11 and other events in the Middle East, and the things they've said about any group in America that doesn't consist of straight white men would rightly be regarded as obsolete and unhinged. So what if Obama happened to be an athiest? What would it matter? People like you have prejudged him anyway. If he's a Christian, well, his preacher is a nutcase. If he's Muslim, he's evil, and if he's athiest, he's evil. The way I see it, with obvious bigots like yourself, Obama can't win. What blows my mind is the lengths people like yourself will go to to disguise your prejudices. And why should Obama change his middle name? Just because it is the same as a former Iraqi dictator, and thus has negative connotations? He had the name long before Saddam came to power. Isn't the perception of the name more your problem than his? So why is the burden on him to change it just because of your prejudices? And if Obama did ride on the wings of the church into a political career, he is certainly no different again from those politicians on the right who pander to ultraconservative Christians.
all I'm saying is that he needs to be vetted. He's obviously a liar who changes his position every other day and, sometimes, even on the same day. And, by the way, his birth name was most likely Barry Dunham and he later changed it to what it is today.

He also made the same statements in chicago when he ran for senate that he is making now. He said he was going to cut the middle classes taxes but did he. No he raised them and lied to the public.
He was also ACORN’s attorney who threatened bankers lives to give out mortgage loans in several states when the knew the people could not pay them. Where did those loans go you ask, they were sold to Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae which have now hit the dirt. He wrecked the economy as a political stunt for his own agenda and is now blaming the Bush admin.

Obama is an Atheist? That's actually a good reason to vote for him.
the point is, Obama did his researcha and he found out that atheists are very sparse in government elected positions. so, if he's a n atheists, then he is also a hypocrite.
I dont care if Obama a Muslim or a Christian or even if an athiest. What I care is how far does Obama able to drive and lead USA to a better living country? I'm so sick of war! I'm so sick listening to the news of Muslims being oppressed by other people. Yes I am a Muslim, and I never care what Christians do in their lives. So, what people have to bother so much about Islam? What make people became terrorist not because the religion, but because of the oppression. Who gave the oppression? Who block the economic for Iraq? Why? I do not understand, why is it when a man from the West hated a man from the middle east, he must put other people's lives into trouble and difficulties too? Please ladies and gentlemen, we only have 1 world. Although we are differents in may aspect of living, why cant we live peacefully with each other? Animals in jungle are different too but why they never declare war, where as we human being that claimed the greatest of God's creatures in the Universe cant live peacefully? We as a nation are not likely to live up to the constitution of our founding fathers,at this point in history.The only way I see the possiblity of that happening ,in the future is, if ,there is a group within our country that can bring it about,after a split from the powers that be!

Another couple of video's by two black independent film makers who had said that Obama made the following statement; I'm paraphrasing here;:

One of the film makers says to the other,he can't wait until Obama gets elected president,and the other fella asked him why? The first one says ,because I want some of what he is going to give to his people. Whereupon the second one says,how do you know that your one of his people? Then they proceed to describe Obama's life story.That he was trying to be a rockstar ,before he decided to move to chicago and run for office They also said that Obama's second father was a muslim,and Obama went to a muslim school for at least a year while he was in Jakarta.So he may have some muslim sentiments.Weather they are good or not is up in the air.
My problem with Obama is we don't really know where he was born.He also has some relatives in Kenya ,in fact a half brother who lost an election there and used that as an excuse for violence against his own people.Not good publicity for Obama that's for sure.
I am ok with him being an Atheist,but not with him pretending he is a Christian,if he's not!

they are Pretend Catholics, in name only. I heard the Board of Trustees are a bunch who are politically connected to him. The only one who can stop the sacrilege is the Pope.
I was brought up Catholic. I went to Catholic school for a while.I have nothing against Catholics in general.I have read about the bloody history of the Catholic church though and it's control over civil government's such as has been the case in Ireland,just as the radical islamic offshoot's do in the Muslim world now.
It's my personal belief the relgion should be a personal choice not forced on anyone for the purpose of control over the population.
What you do or believe in your personal life should not be mandated as something that should be forced on everyone else.
