"Obama Beach" what a celebration of D Day
48Nice tribute
The president in europe for the observation of the landing at Omaha beach during D Day, had a beach named after him. British PM Brown, seemingly an avid obama fan delcared it to be Obama beach, instead of Omaha beach. Whether that was a slip of the tongue or a freudian slip is another matter. At any rate, the president visited the American cemetary on the cliffs overlooking the beach. He also paid tribute to the British, Canadian and French who participated in the landings and the fighting that followed. I'm glad he was there, it serves as reminder to the european who they owe their freedoms to. Had we not entered the war, who knows what the outcome might have been. I also think it has been a good thing that the french have maintained this cemetary over the years. Honoring these brave men who against the odds completed their mission is something that should be continued forever. And to all the surviving members of that event, we thank you and honor your valorand service..
