Yes We Can - Take 2

The Obama Caravan

Marched on and on -

Yes we can! Yes we can!

>>

The big day won

A bigger day to come

The master planner sharpened his plan.

>>

The cheers went up

Well-wishers worlds away

Astounded yet delighted

Sent applause across the waves.

Wide-eyed and warm-hearted

The anthem rang -

Yes we can! Yes we can!

>>

So not be outdone

The team - from home -

Let pandemonium run -

Journalists swooned

Men and women bowed

The cry went out

Deliverance's about.

>>

And the caravan marched on -

Yes we can! Yes we can!

>>

The stage was set

The glorious day approached -

To the Capitol! To the Capitol!

Far and wide went the shout

Well and maimed

Rich and poor

Everyone, no doubt.

>>

Rejoice!

Give praise!

Join in the throng

Renewal, re-birth

A new day has come.

Before us, here he is

The one! The one!

>>

So the Obama Caravan

Marched on and on -

Yes we can! Yes we can!

>>

That day came!

Glorious, phenomenal day!

America, the

beautiful had grown -

A black man assumed the "throne!"

We laughed and cheered

Some stammered thru tears

And others grasped a lesson.

>>

MLK smiled.

Graveyards awoke with singing,

"Many mountains we’ve climbed,

Many valleys gone thru

Many rivers we crossed

To bring freedom to all -

Free! Free at last!”

>>

And so the Obama Caravan

Marched on and on -

Yes we can! Yes we can!

Stay tuned.
