As we, the people, continue to respect the office, the office holder continues to disrespect the people.

This was a Politico post at 8:45pm last night, the day of New Jersey’s and Virginia’s elections:
'NOT WATCHING' — A few hours after telling reporters they shouldn't expect "any great insight" into 2010 based on the outcome of Tuesday night's elections, White House press secretary Robert Gibbs told POLITICO the president wasn't even following the results.
"He's not watching returns," Gibbs said.
Not watching the returns? That I can believe. But not following the results after all the campaigning he did for New Jersey’s Jon Corzine? Our acting-president, the Messiah, surely asked from time to time something like, “Hey Rahm. How’s it looking?”
There is a liar somewhere in this picture. I’ll venture to say we have two liars. However, I’ll cut Mr. Gibbs some slack for he only parrots what the boss says.
Yeah, Joe Wilson was right. The guy is a liar. A liar not to be trusted. And, we the people of the Great United States of America are the losers. As we, the people, continue to respect the office, the office holder continues to disrespects the people.
Granted, if Mr. Obama lied about last night’s election results, it is no big deal except for one thing: A lie of any proportion gives us a view of the liar’s character.
It might be Mr. Obama is not a liar because a liar speaks knowing he or she is not telling the truth. I could be generous and say he restates his position because of changing circumstances. Or, he unknowingly misspeaks from time to time. I could say all these things but I won’t. Why? Because I’m convinced he is a liar.
How can I call our acting-president a liar? Aren‘t we in this country presumed innocent until proven guilty? Ah! Glad you asked. Innocent until proven guilty works in court but not in public opinion.
Our acting-president’s presidency is sputtering. Elected one year ago today, the old man (for those who don’t know, “old man” is a sign of affection for military commanding officers) hasn’t accomplished anything worth writing home about.
In baseball terminology, he will be on first base in another couple of months. Then second and then third before sliding in home sometime during 2012 in an attempt to achieve something, no matter how insignificant, before we eject him from the game.
He has to have something to show for his legacy, you know. And of course he will need something to put in his library. Too, we can’t forget the obligatory memoir. Somebody is likely working on it now for him. Well, maybe he can accomplishment something during the next three years.
Don’t believe he’s a liar? During the 2008 campaign he told us he would not raise taxes for the middle class. My response: wait. He will. Tim Geithner has already hinted at a tax increase:
Appearing on ABC’s “This Week with George Stephanopoulos” Sunday, Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner floated President Obama’s next big move: a tax increase on middle-class Americans.
Geithner made it clear during the interview that the administration believes that new federal revenues are needed and he declined to rule out raising taxes on Americans earning less than $250,000 per year to get those revenues. Read
Also, if his cap and trade passes we will all pay higher electricity costs. And, what about his health requirement that those of us who do not purchase insurance will pay a penalty. Not taxes?
Google searches yield a variety of credible articles that strongly suggest taxes, taxes, and taxes.
What about the Afghanistan troop level? Our acting-president has been telling us he will decide after the Afghan presidential election whether to send additional troops as General Stanley McChrystal requested over two months ago. Here is an excerpt from Fox News quoting John Boehner, House Minority Leader:
"Now that it is clear that President Karzai will remain in office, the White House has no further pretext for delaying the decision on giving General McChrystal the resources he needs to achieve our goals in Afghanistan," Boehner said in a statement Monday. "There are no more excuses." Read
I agree and ask what’s the next reason?
A better question is what’s the next reason (lie) on anything?
