King Arthur

King Arthur the controversial mythical character of medieval times is taught by Merlin the Magician about growing up and passing the story of Camelot to future generation. T. H. White is the author of the novel “the Once and Future King” and the book was made into a musical on Broadways which had 873 performances. Many have reproduced the beautiful songs from the play, my favorite has always been remakes by Julie Andrews and Richard Burton, and of course, there’s Richard Harris’s version of Camelot.

In one of the 5 books, King Arthur was quoted as saying:

"A good reason for starting a war is simply to have a good reason! For instance, there might be a king who had discovered a new way of life for human beings — you know, something which would be good for them. It might even be the only way from saving them from destruction. Well, if the human beings were too wicked or too stupid to accept his way, he might have to force it on them, in their own interests by the sword."

Party Night

Recently the White House had a grand event where Classical Music was featured, and while all the buzz was around setting up the event and seating charts, in the halls Obama was overheard singing his own little song, and while it was not quite classical, as he sang I recognized it as the catchy tune from Camelot.

Obama Sings Camelot

“If I were a rich man, yadda, dadda,…oh wait, I am a rich man, and that was last Wednesday…” Obama continued…

“Don't let it be forgot

That once there was a spot,
For one brief, shining moment
That was known as O-ba-mal-ot” I like the sounds of it…….

Obamaland

It's true! It's true! My crown has made it clear

The chaos must be perfect all the year.

A law was made a distant moon ago here:
October and November must be hot
And there's no legal limit to the lies here
In O-ba-ma-lot…….

Congress has been given till December
To pass this Health bill and other’s on the spot,
By order, Rahm will send you a dead fish dear
In O-bama-lot…..

O-bama-lot! O-bama-lot!
I know it sounds a bit bizarre,
But in O-bama-lot, O-bama-lot
That's how conditions are.
The seniors may not know till after sundown.
By then it will be too late for them all

In short, there's simply not
A bigger bunch of snots
For happily-ever-aftering than here
In O-bama-lot

.Verse Two

O-bama-lot! O-bama-lot!
I know it gives a person pause,
But in O-bama-lot, O-bama-lot
We’ve broken all the laws,
Fox must be kept from coming to the hillside.
This Health plan must be shoved right down their throats.
In short, there's simply not
A bigger bunch of snots,
For happily-ever-aftering than here
In O-bama-lot.

And all were singing and dancing that night in Obamaland!

Other songs heard that night, The government can! and the Famous Tunak Tunka Tun, also known as the 'Nipple Dance' which was the hit of the night.

Great hub, I and my wife say this play last weekend. And what is funny, Camelot is brought down from evil inside.

Keep on hubbing!

Jiberish, this is a very clever hub. I love the fact you used Camelot to effectively describe O-bam-a-lot. So much truth in those lyrics.

Jibberish

Great Hub; Camelot is my all time favorite musical play. I’m sure if you continued Act II could feature Sir Timothy Geithner singing “How to Handle an Economy” with Act III featuring Queen Barney Fwank singing “Take me to the Banking Fair”, The Final Act could feature John Beiner and his band of Republican Knights riding into the Dark Castle rescuing the Statue of Liberty which is being burned at the stake!

Just a few suggestions!

Remember the song, where you drop the 'O', then sing; Bama Bama, Obama, Fee Fi Fobama, Bama, if the first two letters are ever the same you drop them both then say the name, like Bob, Ob with a boble, etc...? The name game...

I can't believe that King Arthur really said that. Course, in those days, it might have referred to a more refined way of life. Obama is certainly full of himself. But he is his mother's son, weaned thoroughly on Communist fodder his early years into the present. Wait til he gets to China, where they love him soooo much. Maybe they will keep him there.
