Historical mistakes made in Obama speeches

It is becoming more apparent that President Barack Hussein Obama has been very poorly educated when it comes to history. Although it was obvious when he was running for president, his supporters were so enamored by his charm that they didn't listen to what he was actually saying.

Writing in the Washington Examiner on June 8, 2009, Michael Barone recalled that Obama had said that presidents from Franklin Roosevelt had met with leaders of enemy nations. That is not in any history books so perhaps it was a figment of Obama's fertile imagination. He also said that the Berlin Wall came down thanks to a "world that stands as one." Barone says that the world was standing as two, and one side wanted to keep the wall up. (Namely Russia.)

However, Barone says Obama still has some history to learn. In saying that
"No system of government can or should be imposed upon one nation by any other." he apparently never learned that is what the United States did in Germany and Japan, and in Iraq, as well.

Most disturbingly, according to Barone, Obama seems to have gotten the history of the Israel-Palestine issue wrong. He wrote that the plight of the Palestinians since 1948 or 1967 is not the moral equivalent of the slaughter of Jews in the Holocaust, as Obama's "on the other hand" segue suggested. Nor are private statements by Arabs accepting the continued existence of Israel the moral equivalent of Israeli governments' public willingness to negotiate with Palestinians.
