Obamas Speech about Jeremiah Wright
45Obama’s Speech about Jeremiah Wright
Today Barack Obama has made a speech in regards to his thoughts on Jeremiah Wright’s racial and political views. As all of Obamas speeches he states key American historical points in a nostalgic way that suggest that he was responsible for it in some way. Again as always he did the same with race. For some reason people are referring to this speech as Obama trying to bring everyone together closing the racial divide. In fact the whole purpose of this speech was made to prove he is not a racist like his mentor. People insist that Obama is a uniter even though he has done nothing more than state historical things that other people have done in a nostalgic way.
Obama makes a point to throw his grandma under the buss as he reflects on her fears of black men. Using his grandma was a good way to deflect the racist remarks of Jeremiah Wright and bring the attention on racist whites while avoiding suspicion. This tricked a lot of people but not me. If he was accused of hating black people you know he wouldn’t have brought up any racist events from his black relatives.
Obama even admitted to being present during radical sermons of rev Wright. He also went on to say he does not denounce his mentor but he does not agree with everything he says. Of course he would say this, he has to.
Overall
The fact he admitted that he was aware of these views and has continued to support Jeremiah Wright, has shown me that he himself doesn’t find these statements too unsettling. If he did wouldn't he have walked right out of the church. I know I would have.

I don't think you know what spiritual or mentor means.
I never said he was there for the sermons broadcasted but Obama did say he was there to hear some pretty radical things said by Wright. Jeremiah Wright is scum.
Obama gave his speech to try to win an election.
I'm the only one with an open mind here, talking about facts, and not passing around biased links.
I love Martin Luther King Jr. He is my all time favorite person in history. What he was able to accomplish in the face of such vicious hatred while never stooping to the other side's tactics is the ultimate sign of strength and courage. Obama has never had to go through anything like Martin Luther King Jr did but yet the ignorant media continued to disrespect MLK by comparing such an easy time in life for a black man (that Obama has lived through) to the trials and hardships that Dr. King had to live with everyday. Not to mention that Dr. King actually changed things instead of just reflecting on things.
I'm glad we agree on Martin Luther King Jr. Perhaps there is some hope for you. Yes it is way too early to compare Obama to MLK or JFK, however he's the closest thing to either of them in many, many years. He has done a lot in his short time in politics but I expect much more from him.
Time will have to be the judge of who is right and who is wrong about Obama. I just do hope you keep an open mind if Obama makes it into the White House. I know there were many critics of MLK and JFK in the past, I'm curious if those critics continued the hate or came around and admitted they were wrong afterwards. I still find websites attacking MLK which is a pretty sad thing.
I love this country and would like nothing more than to be completely wrong. I always have and always will wish our president to do the best job possible.
Obama is a racist and we are headed for riots. The Obama backers will riot if he doesnt get the nomination of the Dem party. If he does, and runs for president, and fails they will riot. IF HE WINS, THEY WILL RIOT. This is my personal opinion only, and one I do hope is wrong. We will see.

Just to clarify some misstatements you have made since you are so big on the facts:
Jeremiah Wright is Obama's religious mentor, you continually try to infer a closer relationship than what is really there. Wright introduced Obama to Jesus, Wright has nothing to do with Obama's policies and views on the world. In fact, Obama has a much different view than Wright.
Obama was not present at the sermons in question but admitted to hearing some controversial sermons from Wright. If you actually research the man you will find Wright has done a lot of great things over the years and in full context is not a bad man at all.
Obama did not give this excellent and historical speech not to prove himself to anyone. He gave this speech because of the hatemongers out there trying to jump on this and twist it to fit their warped view of America and society.
I am glad though to see you are a vast minority as America has come a long way in its short history. You might have a very long 8-16 years my friend as I don't see the economy recovering in time, making this a very difficult race for McCain and the Republicans. Anything can happen, but I would suggest you try to keep a more open mind about race, religion and all social aspects of society. I think 50 years ago you'd fit right in, but right now these are changing times.
Of course, you'd probably be writing articles attacking that damn racist Martin Luther King Jr. I'd surmise.
