Obtaining The Mind Of Christ

Let This Mind Be In You
Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: This was the request of the writer of Philippians and chapter two verse five, the writer sets the stage in verses one thru four. Where he begins to talk about the character of the Christ, which contains these attributes love, fellowship of the spirit, mercy, unselfishness, care in concern for others, no glory seeking, it has been often said these can be summed up in one word love. Jesus explains it this way all the commandment could be sum in these two," Love the Lord thy God with all your heart, and love they neighbor as they self."
Love is at the center of the thoughts in the mind of Christ not just any type of love but love that produce compassion the scripture say's he had compassion on the multitude when he look out and so the followers, another place it says his disciples whom he loved, when Mary and Martha came to bring the news of Lazarus's death, they said he whom you loved has died.
When they bought the lame, and sick to Jesus it is said that he had mercy on them divine care and concern their conditions touch his spirit and when they reached with faith he answered in love, it seems that their faith drew the love out of his spirit. Mercy is God's response to faith which produces love that heals.
Jesus immediately recognizes God he simply said it's the Father that doeth the work. He made know claim to be anything but a child of God. Whenever he was question he always referred to the scripture or the Father he promised his disciples they would be able to do the same transmit the love of the father, he prayed in this manner I have done all you appointed me to do I have kept all of those you gave me to watch over and now I return all things to you.
We have been looking at the thought, acts and responses of Jesus which reveals how he thought which was to do the will of the father; which was to love man back to God. Jesus was acquainted with the father how did Jesus keep his relationship with the father the scripture say he prayed there are many times he went off from the disciples and prayed. When we read about the beginning of his ministry we learn it began with forty days of fasting which suggest prayer and meditation more religious people might say prayer and supplication I believe these are one in the same.
After his time alone Jesus was tempted by Satan whom he answered with the scriptures one might say the sword of the spirit which is the word of God. Jesus did not attack Satan with his flesh or his own words he uses what was written, this should be an example to us as how we deal with our enemy Satan we use the written word. We read in the scripture that Jesus was subject to every attack Satan had and he overcame them with the word. Let this mind be in you defeat Satan with the word of God.
When Jesus had finished all his work he found himself on a cross forsaken by all whom had followed him but once again Jesus prove faithful he did not come down off the cross and claim glory no he hung there and gave up his life that God might be glorified it said at the moment he declared it is finished that many standing around came to believe he was truly the son of God.
But this was not the end Jesus did one more act he returned from hell and met with his disciples and instructed them that they had been given all power to do as he did; because they believe but he did not forget me and you he said we would do greater works when we come to believe. Today I believe that, being a drug addict lost and the world without hope, and spirituality dead God has allowed me to take off my grave cloth and help other drug addicts.
This is proof to me that I been given the mind of Christ because drug addicts are selfish people that destroy everything and everybody around them. What is this if it's not a demonstration of the love of God and how when incorporated into a life God's ability to change?
So this is not a strange request that the writer is making it's a required request for those of us who have witness the power of God. We can take on the mind of Christ and announce our oneness with God; so again I say let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus.

Very nice hub, you can and He will.
We are the miracles that keep us believing that faith works. If we ask humbly and sincerely for Him to calm the storms of life, He, God will do this for us, if not He will help us to get the job done! Jesus said, " Take up your cross and follow me." " I will never leave you or forsake you."
I love hearing testimonies like this. You truly can be a light to those around you. The power of the Holy Spirit is amazing!

Williamjordan,
I get excited when I read something that I know is right in line with the Word! You have done a wonderful job here!
Our weapons when fighting the enemy are not carnal. This is why it is so important to have an ongoing growing relationship with the Lord as well as knowing His WORD! So you can recognize his tactics! Jesus has given us a marvelous example of how to respond when spiritual warfare is about us!
It is wonderful to know that the Lord has delivered you from drugs; Praise God! There is POWER in the name of Jesus! And Yes, "Let this mind be in you that was also in Christ Jesus!" It is such a Blessings to know that we have been given the mind of Christ!
