The Perpetual Lie

Odd Politics?

Already this month there have been 71 of our brave military killed in Iraq. This very disturbing statistic is the direct result of the current administration. We have a sitting Vice President who continues to insist that the Iraq citizens had something to do with the attack on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.

Even when it has been proven that this is patently untrue. He and the Republican talking heads consistently, and with conviction, toss this falsehood out in front of the American people as a legitimate reason for these deaths.

If, as they say, you tell a lie long enough it somehow becomes the truth. Even as I write, I have heard this same old refrain; "the reason we're in Iraq is to prevent us from having to fight them here." How long are we going to play the fool to this nonsense?

What is truly a travesty is the fact that almost half of the country still believes that "THE BIG LIE" is true and that the Iraqi people had something to do with 9/11. Al Qaida and their leader Osama bin Laden are responsible for that attack. Yet our troops are in Iraq dying. Why? Is Osama there? No, he's somewhere in Pakistan, Kashmir or Afghanistan.

What is even more disgusting is the FBI report yesterday that no less than 8 Al Qaida members were captured coming across the Mexican border posing as Venezualan citizens. Fight them there so we don't have to fight them here? Wake up folks. Go to the polls in November and take this country back from these incompetent and dangerous fools!

There.......I feel much better now.

Voting seems to be, more and more, choosing the lesser of two evils. Fortunately, the gap between greater and lesser evils seems to be widening every day, making the trip to my polling place a bit easier.

excellent rant -

you know the neofascists do the same thing, just repeat and repeat and repeat false data hoping the repetition will create the illusion of veracity.

call them out on it early and often and vote vote vote!

and for people who think it doesn't matter if you vote because both parties are the same, all I can say is I strongly believe you are wrong. voting does matter and the parties do not have the same economic policies.

no doubt we need a viable third party so that we can divide the social issues from the economic issues, but until then it might be smart to vote for people who see workers as American human beings other than as cost of product.

vote Dem in November!

Great hub. The problem is that this Administration believes the average American would rather stick their head in the sand than hear the truth. If they could find Saddam in a rat-infested hole in Iraq, then they could find Osama if they wanted to.
