I will be going off of my usual desserts only track for the next few months, so that I can better service the holiday needs of my faithful readers. We will be discussing options for fall and winter parties. (No, not necessarily the Thanksgiving and Christmas ones, you could use these suggestions for a nice harvest party or just a dinner party. Whatever makes you happy!) Don’t be sad, I am not abandoning you with no information about desserts at all. This means that in addition to some, limited content about dessert, you will see main course options and other discussions of the foods and holidays of the season. I think this will be a nice break for us all, and later on, we can get back to the decadent (and better for you than before) desserts that we all love without having missed out on the good food and fun that makes these shorter and colder days worth the bundling up and driving in the snow. (both for you and your guests. After all who wants to come 50, or more, miles to find out that the bread is soggy and the food is bland. I know I would be mad.)You will see a series on Thanksgiving, but those ideas are just as applicable to any seasonal get together that you might have, even a birthday party or a wedding. So in the days, week and months ahead you can use my hubs as a one-stop shop for your fall and winter cooking needs, without an fear or guilt. You do not have to cheat on the one and only love of your food blog life. ( I know, I know, you are not faithful the rest of the year, and your probably will not be now, but let me have my dreams, for now at least) That having been said, have a nice holiday, whatever you celebrate or do not celebrate. in your particular tradition. Be happy and be safe. Please check out the post on holiday warnings and be sure to practice all the food safety and general safety that you need to. I know it sounds tedious, but you need to be safe with your food. If you have chosen to check out for the season and return to me after the New Year, once I have returned to a desserts menu, then have a good new year and I will see you when 2008 is fresh and new.
