Office parties can be tricky to plan. You are mixing work with pleasure, different work departments, and adding spouses or dates. What you're really doing is stirring up a formula for boredom. No one knows how to act at office parties. You still have to stay professional, but you are supposed to loosen up and have fun. Those two things together are an oxy moron.

Even the "I'll have a drink to loosen up a bit" theory doesn't really exist anymore. Some people are scared to drink in front of co-workers. Why not create one centralized location that everyone can go to and actually offer input for the office party through online networking? Plus, it's a place everyone can get to know each other a little bit better on a personal, fun level. You'll bring the tension level down tenfold way before the party. Everyone will go from dreading it to looking forward to this office party.

All you have to do is create an awesome, interactive web page. Sound hard? It's not. There are over 60 multi media tools that you can use and they're all so simple to use its crazy. Plus it's free! So why not?

Decorate the page with a combination theme of office supplies and party supplies until you get the actual office party theme. How do you get the actual theme? Let the party-goers vote on it. Come up with a few great themes and post them on your page and have everyone vote on which theme. They'll love it.

Post the date and time of the party. Add video of mishaps from other office parties and some pictures of some of the employees. When they come onto your page, they'll see themselves on the guest list. They'll also see pictures of themselves if you choose to add those. Add some music and anything else you'd like until you get the theme. The once you get the theme, personalize the page again to match that.
