He/she will also have at least 18 years post qualification experience of which 15 years should be in the upstream Oil and Gas industry with at least 5 years in senior management position. He/she must have a track record of delivering results with notable achievements and must be respected in the upstream industry.

A client requires a ‘River Crossing Superintendent’ for a contract based in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. The candidate must be
experienced on large diameter pipeline river crossing installations in excess
of 1000metres using bottom pull method.
Should be able to organize and supervise overall installation of Crossings and
supervise & coordinate crew of ex pats and indigenous personnel
Responsibilities include but not limited to
Slot excavations
Anchoring planning and execution
Floatation installation and release
All pulling activities
Coordination of associate diving activities
NB: Survey engineering and winch loading and pulling calculations will not be
part of the Superintendent responsibilities
Candidate Requirements:
- Must have at minimum 20 years experience in installation of river xngs with
at least 5 of those in Nigeria.
- Use to harsh conditions, living onboard a houseboat in remote locations -
- Swimming skills essential
- HUET desirable but not essential as training will be given
- Physically fit
Experienced in working with and around Grab dredgers, suction/cutter dredgers, heavy
duty equipment and craneage, floatation devices, pulling winches and associated
equipments.
Start date - Immediately
Rotation 90 days on /21 days off, paid whilst on leave

Job description
Tasks
* Assists the Head of Maintenance and Inspection in various aspects relating to

* Recruitment of Maintenance & Inspection Personnel.
* Management of the Maintenance & Inspection Organization.
* Assists in developing Maintenance Strategy, Policies and Procedures
* Maintains relations with the Offshore Maintenance & Inspection teams
* Maintains relations with other Departments such as Contracts, Finance,
Production, Safety, Logistics, Warehousing plus Facilities Engineering &

* Reviews the need for Equipment manufacturer service contracts, issues
justification to Asset Management & draws up contract scopes of work. On
approval provides documentation for the Contracts Dept to raise the necessary
Service Contract.
* Reviews all existing M&I Contracts & request renewals were relevant
in a timely manner.
* Discusses with Asset Production Teams the setting up of First Line
Maintenance.
-Organizes visits by M&I personnel to various manufacturer’s facilities for
pre-commissioning & factory acceptance tests.
-Reviews maintainability and reliability of proposed new equipment.
-Reviews spare parts selection, taking into consideration the criticality of
various pieces of equipment.
-Oversees periodic reviews of the stock of spare parts to determine if stock
levels are correct & organizes the scrapping of obsolete / redundant items.
-Reviews future maintenance programs and procedures.
Context and environment
*Office based but with occasional visits to the Company’s Offshore operated
facilities.
*Is principally involved within the M&I dept, but also liaises with other
departments within the Company plus various outside contractor organizations
i.e. Solar / Nuovo Pignone etc.
*Works on a 6 week on / 3 week off rotation, 7 days per week, 8 hours / day
with occasional visits Offshore.
Requirements
Profile
*Graduated Engineer or equivalent, with at least 20 years of experience in the
Oil & Gas industry.
*Familiar with offshore / onshore oil and gas production facilities.
*Some knowledge of the Portuguese language would be an advantage.
*Must be trained and certified for H2S, Sea survival and HUET.
