Burned By Oil In The Mouth

About three days ago I was making some home made doughnuts thinking it would be a great thing to do. Well it turned out to be a disaster. I was using a fork to get the doughnuts out of the hot oil that I had been using. I had two forks one for the oil and one for the sugar. Well somehow the oil fork got mixed up and I went to get the sugar off the fork sticking it in my mouth. I clenched down on it and heard this singeing sound and I knew then that I had goofed up. My whole mouth went numb and all tingly inside. Luckily I had some ice cubes that I just made a few hours before but not intending to use them on this situation.

Well the inside of my mouth looked like I had mouth cancer. It was all white from where the skin had been singed. It is really healing nicely now. I know for a fact that ice will keep the swelling to a minimum. I figured great I will look like a clown with big lips. They did not swell up much at all. I give credit to the ice. So next time you get an oil burn from doing something stupid remember ice will help keep the swelling down. But best of all do not do what I did.
