Oily Skin Care Treatments that Work

Are your oil glands in overuse? Do you wish to get rid of that irritating sheen? Defend against zits, blemishes, and acne? The best treatment for oily skin is simple. Yet it requires a reliable daily and weekly routine. The following 5 instructions form the groundwork for oily skin solutions

1. Softly bathe your face twice a day by means of a gentle cleanser. I advocate using a natural product.

Learn from my mistakes...

Throughout my teen years, I was in an continuing battle with overactive oil glands and serious acne. Yet I had no idea how to effectively deal with the problem.

I tried "miracle products", an acne clearing device,  and even excessive face scrubs several times a day. Little did I know I was actually making my problem worse. The harsh treatment was irritating, not helpful. Irritated skin rebels by producing more oil. A vicious circle!

The best advice for oily skin care is to limit cleansing to morning and night. And always treat your face tenderly.

2. Apply an astringent or a toner after cleansing. A toner will tighten pores and smooth the appearance of your skin. If doable, reapply throughout the day for a fast pep up. One good product to use is the Neutrogena Multi-Vitamin Acne Treatment.

3. Treat your oily skin to a clay mask. Also referred to as a "mud mask," this is accessible at first-rate salons and private day spas. The benefit of a clay mask is due to the distinctive capability of clay to remove and soak up oil from deep inside your pores. This oily skin solution will allow your skin being clear and healthy. It helps to remove blackheads too. I actually feel this is the best way to remove blackheads. Now besides a clay mask, you can use peels to achieve something similar. I recommend the Neutrogena Acne Mark Fading Peel.

4. Exfoliate once or twice a week. Exfoliation will:

* Remove dead skin cells
* Balance oil production
* Reduce in size the appearance of engorged pores

Exfoliation can be abrasive to facial skin. At all times pick a gentle product and rub on gently. By no means "scrub" your face with anything. Don’t overexert, either. Exfoliating twice a week is ideal for oily skin. Doing this will help remove acne.

5. Put on an oil free moisturizer only if needed. Frequently a moisturizer is not essential for oily skin care. Yet there are exceptions. Oil and moisture are not the same. You could have oily skin yet lack moisture. This is especially true as skin ages. Or possibly your skin is a mixture of dry and oily. If so, put on a moisturizer to the dry areas only... more often than not the cheeks and neck. If you want to know how to remove blackheads, well, using an oil free moisturizer is one of the best ways to do so.

Consistency is the solution to healthy skin care. Incorporating these 5 oily skin solutions inside your schedule will set you on the course to improved, sheen-free and spot-free facial.

Although oily skin has that benefit of the sheen hiding one's wrinkles, everything else points to constant discomfort. Someone with oily skin is always in danger of having recurring acne. Towards curbing that discomfort and caring for one's skin, your hub on oily skin care is spot on. I'm into skin care myself, and I'm glad your article is concise. I've read a lot of beauty care hubs that go on and on with little to disclose. Yours doesn't do that. Good hub.

Good advice in this article - especially the advisement to exfoliate, which is so often overlooked by people who suffer from oily skin and/or acne. Exfoliating makes a huge difference! A few months ago I found an awesome product on Ebay called "Mattify!" which has helped my oily skin immensely. It's a loose translucent powder containing Kaolin Clay and soaks up the shine on my face for several hours. Even my boyfriend uses it and nobody can tell he's wearing it. Such an amazing find, it's so wonderful to not have sticky greasy skin all day.
