Olay Regenerist hit the beauty market more than a year ago and has been given a lot of publicity in that although it is not an expensive face cream it has all the qualities and properties of being one.

It claims to do the next best thing to a face lift in that it tightens and firms up three vital areas of your face which are the neck, the contours of your eyes and your jawline. Applying it every night you will wake to see a much firmer face and within time you can see how the oval of your face takes on a much more youthful appearance.

At €30 (depending on the store where you buy it) it is not that expensive as the jar of rich cream will last you at least two months.

Olay, which some years back was known as Oil of Ulay, has always had a great reputation and I am sure that you can remember that how your grandmothers used to swear by it.  Since those days it has got even better and included all the innovative ingredients that all the other grander firms are using.

I was told lately, and I tend to believe it, that most of the ingredients for all the face creams about are more or less the same but if the firm has more prestige and the packaging is fancier the price for the product goes up a whole lot.

Sometimes one firm gets a slight edge on the others by discovering a new ingredient that works really well, but at the end of the day it is not long before all the other firms catch onto it and also include the ingredient in their own products.

It is a bit like the fashion world.  The designers try to keep their new collection a well guarded secret but once they show it off on the cat walk, for all the world to see, well then their secret is out in the open and there for other designers to copy.

But to get back to Olay Regenerist.  It has a pleasant fresh smell to it and is easily applied without leaving a greasy feeling behind. Within two minutes you can, if you wish, apply foundation on top of it and it is going to leave your face feeling completely hydrated.

There is a version for the day and another for the night but to tell the truth I use the night version for the day as well as the night. It seems to be that the night versions of any creams are more concentrated and so I always opt for using the more concentrated versions both night and day because why should I waste time by using a milder cream during the day? I want things to work quickly.

There has been a lot of talk about this rejuventating cream and it is mainly because it is a cream that really works and is so much cheaper than all the other grander brands. Their very catchy slogan is 'wake up to the look of a mini-lift each morning'.

I myself have used this cream for more than six months and am delighted with the results because at my age, 56 years old, I have definitely aged some and very much more after I hit my menopause and as I am too much of a coward to have a face lift done firstly because I am always frightened of operations and secondly you never know whether you will come out afterwards looking better or if in fact you might have done yourself more harm than good. Remember that not all plastic surgery ends up being a success as there are so many factors that have to be taken into consideration.
