Old Fashion Homemade Popcorn Balls with Pecans"

Ingredients:

1 cup of kernel popcorn

1 1/2 Tbs. canola oil

1/2 tsp. salt

3 Tbs. butter

1 cup maple syrup

1 cup brown sugar (packed).

1/2 cup can milk

1 tsp. vanilla extract

1/2 tsp. baking soda

1 cup pecan pieces

Direction to prepare:

Put large pot on fire with oil, wait is until oil is hot then add popcorn to the pot, when start to pop put the lid on and shake pot until corn is popped. put to the side. sprinkle over salt. leave lid off.

In a large sauce pan or pot pour in syrup, brown sugar, mi, butter and vanilla, turn on fire to medium and let cook until comes to a boil, then add baking soda. Let syrup mixture cook until it gets so thick , you can drop some on a sauce and it beads up and becomes hard and crunch. continue stirring until it get to crunchy state. Then pour in pecans and mix well then pour over the popcorn and stir the mixture until popcorn is evenly coated with syrup and pecan mixture. Have a cereal bowl with cold water in it, emerge bot hands in water and get a large amount of the popcorn mixture on a large spoon and put in your hand be careful not to get burned. kind of form a ball with your hands, keep doing this process until you have have the the popcorn ball mixture in to balls. you can use saran wrap or aluminum foil to wrap popcorn balls. These are a great treat for everyone , especially the children; they will love these crunchy , nutty good tasting popcorn balls.

I just tried the recipe - even without the pecans it's delicious. I do wish I could add them though, I just know that it would kick it up a notch. Thanks again.
