62Here is an easy sawmill gravy recipe that only takes a few minutes to make and goes great with biscuits or over toast.
What You Need:
- 1/2 pound of your favorite breakfast sausage
- 2 tablespoons of all purpose flour
- 1 pint of Half and Half
- 2 tablespoons of sausage grease, bacon grease or lard
- 10" or larger skillet
- Salt and pepper to taste
Cooking:
- Place skillet over medium heat
- Add 1 tablespoon of grease to the skillet
- Add Sausage - cook thorough
- Add 1 tablespoon of grease
- Add 2 tablespoon of flour - stir with sausage until golden brown
- Add Half and Half - stir until thick and remove from heat
Enjoy!!
Note: I add the grease before the sausage because my favorite brands of sausage or Tennessee Pride , Jimmy Dean and Webber's and on most occasions do not produce much grease.
