Here is an easy sawmill gravy recipe that only takes a few minutes to make and goes great with biscuits or over toast.

What You Need:

  • 1/2 pound of your favorite breakfast sausage
  • 2 tablespoons of all purpose flour
  • 1 pint of Half and Half
  • 2 tablespoons of sausage grease, bacon grease or lard
  • 10" or larger skillet
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Cooking:

  • Place skillet over medium heat
  • Add 1 tablespoon of grease to the skillet
  • Add Sausage - cook thorough
  • Add 1 tablespoon of grease
  • Add 2 tablespoon of flour - stir with sausage until golden brown
  • Add Half and Half - stir until thick and remove from heat

Enjoy!!

Note: I add the grease before the sausage because my favorite brands of sausage or Tennessee Pride , Jimmy Dean and Webber's and on most occasions do not produce much grease.
