How To Build A Profitable Opt In List

You have read the stories of people creating a fortune with an opt-in lists. You know you should have a powerful opt-in list and you have finally decide to build one of your own.

You read countless articles and seek out the "Guru's" advice. You think they have told you everything about opt-in lists building. You dutifully followed their advice to the letter. And, you're still not able to make a profit.

Actually, you're possibly losing money. You may have even hired writers to help you. Still only a very small percentage of your list actually buys something.

You realize, after a few months of statistics and sales figures, you're still not making any money.

So what went wrong? Why have you failed where others succeeded? The most likely mistake is that you dove right into the wrong market. You chose a market that you thought would be popular and profitable. This was not the case, however.

For those who have started an opt-in list and have failed, you can rejuvenate your venture. For you and those just starting here are three ways to build and grow a profitable opt-in list.

THE OLD HARD WAY

1) First, get your customers to trust you. Just launching your opt-in list does not make you a trusted and believable seller. Publish several articles before you start building your list. Write about topic you know. Visit forums to gain knowledge about your customers; their wants and needs. Then target those wants and needs.

Join forums and provide expert advice and recommendations. When people trust you, you will be able to start your own opt-in list. You can then ask them to join your list. The simple truth is, the money will only come in when the consumers and subscribers believe and trust you.

People want products or services that are a good exchange for their money. They are not likely to buy something on your recommendation, if they do not know and trust you.

2) Set up your opt list management system. Parts like an autoresponder, a squeeze page, a free offer and more.

3) Be sure you have a product or service that people want and need; buggy whips are difficult to sell in an automobile based society. It may not be your forte but, if you provide a service or a product that you have well researched and learned about, you can sell it. Invest your time, effort and money into finding something your buyers or subscribers can use and that you could sell.

Its a truth that it's best to sell something that you are interest in. Unfortunately, there may not be thousands of people who have the same interest as you. Do your research, find a market you can serve and you will see the profits come in.

4) Make friends with other opt-in list users. This is beneficial especially if it is someone who has already built a successful opt-in list. These people have experience in this area and experience is still the best teacher. While there are many articles you can read and use, there is nothing like getting first hand help from people who have traveled down the path.

Experienced opt-in list users will be able to tell you what to do and what not to do; because they have already done it. While different people have different situations, the general concepts still apply.

Building a profitable opt-in list doesn't just happen overnight. Opt-in lists are built from scratch. As your list grows, you should always maintain the quality of your list. Keep it organized and manageable. Get or hire help if need be. Make sure your subscribers are happy and satisfied and they will be willing to buy from you.
