Really Think About What We Are Doing
All these hubs and forums on hubpages that are so religious or about religion got me to wondering.
The Cosmos is so huge and we are but a minuscule nano particle that is lost on the head of a pin in the vastness of the Universe.
You can see our small planet from the smallness of the Milky Way and yet that would even fit on the head of a pin.
How can we possibly think that we are the only one of God's creation? How can we be that arrogant to think that this is the only playground God has.
We are definitely his playground and yet.......there are those who think with all that out there that we are his only seed.
Now in the Bible, which everyone wants to fight over it does mention something that everyone wants to ignore.
God said Let US make man is OUR image. That is plural. Who are the Others--anybody ever ask themselves that? Do you think that the Clergy knows everything or the Pope or the President or the leaders of THIS SMALL world that is lost on the head of a pin in the cosmos?
There was a quote on another hub that Martin Luther King said
"A nation that continues year after year to spend more money on military defense than on programs of social uplift is approaching spiritual doom."
Martin Luther King Jr.
It got me to thinking........what if we did manage to kill every living thing on this planet, would it matter to the rest of the life out there in that vast ocean of the cosmos?
Does our very own selfishness of religion really matter to the Gods that made us or do you think they are off on some other planet making a new and better human being.....one that doe appreciate everything they made. Do you think that they like us fighting so much and killing each other in their names? What do you think all this fighting and killing and raping the land and the inhabitants of such looks to them? We are not just killing ourselves as humans people...we are killing the wonderful planet that they gave us so graciously to live on. We are killing plants that we are supposed to be eating and helping our bodies that he so graciously gave us to live in. We are killing the animals that we were put here to take care of and I am not talking about the ones we grow for food---wildlife. What do you think is happening to the land in Iraq where they are not only killing people but the very existence that was put here for us to enjoy and take care of?
We are selfish beings and we are more worried about what God is right and who is wrong then really stepping back and considering what these God's put here first. We were not first in their creation----do remember that always. Be respectful of the ground you walk on because you are killing it.
What do you think those who visit this planet think aobut what we are doing? Wouldn't it be nice if it was a beautiful place that others that those God's have made on other planet and a welcoming place? I don't know what you have been taught about leaving a place but I was taught to leave a place better than you found it. We certainly are not doing that!
Remember too that we are but one of the many nano particles that fit on the head of a pin.

I am sorry but I think that those who need to sit up and see are the same ones that cannot do that because they are sitting on the heads and brains.
Well said Lady G. As always a pleasure to read.
Thanks CJ.
Lady Guinevere.
Arrogance is a very small word for the attitude displayed on some of the comments on HubPages. The universe is infinite. The light that reaches us from the stars has travelled many years to reach us. We are so tiny and insignificant in the greater scheme of things. It may well be that we were set on this planet to act as keepers of the fantastic flora and fauna that surround us. We have been given the ability to enjoy and appreciate nature, as well as the capacity to love and care for the natural world. Who knows what our purpose might be, if indeed we have a purpose? The best we can do is to treat the planet and all of it's inhabitants with the love and respect it deserves.
Yes Amanda I agree. I take in the beauty of the flora and fauna and all the creatures that live in my sight. Sometimes I just observe them. Tis a wonderful place to be. It's too bad some can't see beyond their noses.
Thought inducing, Lady. "The Galaxy is on Orion's belt."
You mean on the cats collar!! MIB! I loved that movie!!
Very good!! Wasn't sure you'd get that.
Great hub. I absolutely agree. Well said Amanda! I truely believe we are only on the cusp of understanding the world and what makes it turn. As someone once said (I think it was Socrates), the more I know of the world, the less I know.
Yes CW I got it--right between the eyes! LOL
Being involved in the forums and writing and reading other hubs about religion and other aspects of life I have to aks a question.
If the Jews here the "Chosen" people, then who or what is the "chosen" planet? There are many other planets that life is on and about besides this small planet. Do any of those who are religious and believe in "THE God, think that this is the only planet that God takes care of or sees? Is this his first planet or are we in a long line of favorites and siblings in a "family"?
Nice Hub, LG.
We are merely a pimple upon the arse of the cosmos. Every night, I look up at the stars and realise how insignificant we really are.
May the New Year bring peace and understanding to all!
I also look up at the stars and wonder just how many are inhabted that we will never know about. I just wonder if they feel the same as wee do or have they eveloved enough to think that we are all here in someone's or something's shadow of existance.
Who knows? That is the sort of question that makes life interesting!
Every time we find an answer, it uncovers more questions. If you don't mind me saying, you appear to be in a little spiritual turmoil at the moment - don't worry, I am sure that you will find your own unique path!
I hope that you enjoy the journey!
I don't mind you saying. I would lke for you to clarify that statment though. What do you or how do you come to that about me being in spiritual turmoil? I am curious.
Please feel free to put me in my place if I am talking out of turn! - I read a few of your hubs and posts in the forums, and was intrigued.
Although a Christian, I find some Pagan beliefs that I also like. I loved the period of history, when Celtic Christian and Druid worshipped side by side. I read in one of your hubs/comments that you love the 'Mists of Avalon,' so you know what I mean!
Going against the mainstream can be difficult, but you seem to be doing just fine.
Hope I have not offended you - it is late here and I am too tired to elaborate. :)
Have a great evening!
You have not stepped on my toes. I am very glad that you wrote the things that ylou did. Most people take my questions as me being angry or something like that. I am not, I just like to ask questions and get answers. I am beginning to think that just asking a simple question is wrong for some reason or another. One cannot learn without asking questions and seeking answers to those.
Yes I like the Druids and Pagan and Christianity that is involved in The Mists Of Avalon and Yes they did work together. I am glad that you have read my other hubs and forum post to get to know me better. This is why it is all laid out.
Yes, my path is not easy and you have not offended me in any way. Thank you for stopping by and hope to see you more often.
No worries, LG
I know one lady, in Cheltenham, who is an ordained minister and also a high druid. She is a very nice lady and, in my eyes, proof that there should be no conflict between the two ideas.
I have also been to a few pagan ceremonies, and enjoyed them very much, although my particular love is the old Norse paganism!
I met one a long time ago and don't remember her name but would love to get back in touch with her. We all believe in the same things. The differences are just trivial things like names and rituals or ceremonies.
Those religions that use Angles as powers and principalities are the same as those who aren't religios and use those same as Gods/esses.
What would anyone on this planet who believes in the One God say to someone who has come from another planet in the Universe? How would they tell them about the One God theory? What if the Alien told them what the God was and knew what it was, would the One God people believe it or try to convert them?
Good Hub!

Great Hub, and I just wish everyone in the world would sit up and pay attention to these things :)
