Female Stunt Pilot

Our first encounter w/the extreme sport of aerial stunts came late last year, when we were introduced to young female stunt pilot..who is also a flight instructor wife and mother of 3.. Her name is Chari Wroolie.

The young mother of 3 is a dedicated flyer and stunt pilot..

The first filming session took a good 3 hrs to do the camera set-up,as you have no second chance, we positioned the onboard cameras in available areas for mounting and really had to mount them w/ extra caution...

With speeds in excess of 140 mph and G-Forces topping 4-G's there is no room for error...

The stunt plane is a Citabria..and Chari and her husband keep it in top notch shape.

The plane itself mainly consist of a very strong painted type fabric, overlaying a wooden frame, there is very little metal on this plane. Making onboard camera mounting a bit of a challenge.

I will post a link at the end of this post to see a couple of videos that were done w/ Chari recently in camera test sessions and you will be able to see this fabric rippling on the wings and body of the plane...

The design of the Citabria makes it lightweight and versatile, perfect for preforming aerial stunts...

We were invited back earlier this month to test a few more cam locations, which is very limited due to the plane consisting mainly of fabric..

We found a couple of new locations, but did run into a cam 3 power cable problem so we had to cut out some of that footage, but have since fixed that problem and we are ready for our next session in the near future...

All stunts are preformed in what's known as an "Aerial Stunt Box" a controlled air space over Southern California..

We hope to film w/ Chari again in the near future and may take up another plane also this time to film her preforming the aerial stunts and add w/ onboard video for an even better perspective of the great aerial stunts she is doing...

Female Pilots have come along way since the early days of aviation and Chari is continuing this long tradition of female aviators...

Onboardz would like to thank Chari and her husband and everyone involved for letting us have this experience in aviation filming and look forward to continuing extreme aviation filming and exploring more into these types of extreme sports for a long time to come..

To see Chari in action "Click Here" this will take you to two videos we did w/ Chari in recent camera testing sessions...
