Article Marketing Success for Business Profits
74Does your small business write articles to increase your Web site traffic? Do you doubt your article marketing success potential? Do you worry about how much time it takes? Because you have other priorities? One lesson hard learned over my 20+ years in business is to not try all marketing solutions, but to focus on one or two that work. Every strategy has its own online marketing advantages. Over the past 8 years, the best online marketing technique for me has been writing and submitting articles to high-traffic blogs and high traffic article directories. The other one that increases clients is sharing what I know through teleseminars. What's your best way?
Would you consider article marketing if you could manage tasks well and get four articles for the price of one?
How to Write Four Articles Fast
1. Read other people's articles or blog posts.
Copy and paste one at a time into textpad file (www.textpad.com) and save it in your "Articles to Edit" Folder with a date included. These organizational ideas make it easy to retrieve the partially finished article fast.
Browse through these and as the muse stirs, chose one, make two copies of it as the before and after model in the same file.. Then rewrite the top article with your angle . It's far easier to see the idea in print and add to it than face a blank page. You don't copy another person's material, you transform it for your audience, your skills you want to share, or you create other formats.
2. Change the word count of the article.
Let's say you have written a top ten points for an article.
With a change of the article title, its introduction, and its conclusion, you've already created some uniqueness. Next, if a long article, such as 1000-1500 words, cut it in two. Then copy and paste the original article next to the new model and click the compare button in dupecop.com.. If it says 50% unique or more, you are in business. From a longer tip article of many tips, you can elaborate on just one tip. Thinking of article marketing, I've written single articles on winning article titles, how to format an article, how to leverage articles, article writing mistakes, and how to write a resource box that compels the reader to click to your Web site.
Another version of this is to take a one tip article and make it a three, five, or seven tip article. In he longer versions you will add many new keywords that will boost its uniqueness that search engines love. Your readers like this variety too. When submitting over 230 articles to ezinearticles over 6 years, I realized I could shorten them, changing a few examples, and then resubmit to hubpages, checking them with dupecop.
3. Change the audience in each article.
Let's say your original article was created for a general audience. As I recommend for writing a best seller book, you need to angle it for on one, or at the most two, audiences. The Chicken Soup series later books such as Chicken Soup for the Teenager's Soul sold far more copies than the general title.
Always write with your specific audience in mind. Mothers and working mothers want different information on the same topic. The minority business owner wants different information than a big corporation wants. The women small business owners want a different angle than a coach for men would want. Write tip articles for each kind of business.
Fast Article Marketing Editing Techniques
Your already know marketing with articles brings you high visibility, optimizes your web site in Google ranking, and builds your data base and ezine subscriber numbers. When you post a well thought out article on www.ezinearticles.com your readers will visit your web site and first sign up for your free ezine. That's how I built my list from hundreds to over 10,000 in just a few years. And, that's just for starters.
Your articles bring your target market to your web site to see what you have to offer. Don't disappoint them. When you keep adding new content to your site and submit articles to blogs and article directories, new subscribers will keep showing up.
Knowing these benefits, you want to create and submit as many excellent articles as you can. At times, you have the articles complete, but don't have anyone handy to edit them. Edit them yourself--with a little help from your book coach.
Use this Checklist to Edit your Articles Before you Submit
- Start your introduction with a hook: ask a question, show a benefit, or give a startling fact. You must hook your readers with something that reaches their emotions. Show them you care. Include questions about where they are now that your article will answer.
- Make your hook only a few sentences. Make it rich with key words and phrases. Your readers want to get to the heart of your article fast. They want readable, quick tips. Long stories can bring a yawn to your reader.
- Place the article thesis at the end of your introduction. Your whole article must link to the thesis and keep you on track and focus for a more clear and compelling article. For instance, "Use this checklist to edit your articles."
- Make all of your sentences short. Since standard sentence length is 15-17 words, make most of your sentences under that number. Complex sentences and multiple phrases make the reading slower and tougher. Make it easy for your readers to find the subject and verb of each sentence, so they get the point fast.
- Avoid dull, slow sentences. To avoid passive sentence construction, start them with a subject, and then follow with an action verb. For instance, "The coach marketed her business and books through submitting articles online" is an active sentence. "The coach's books were marketed online through submitting articles." is passive. Drop linking verbs such as "is," "was," "seemed," or "had." Replace them with power, active verbs. Instead of "She is beautiful," you could say, "Her beauty compels you to stare at her."
- Aim for compelling, clear copy. Write for the10th grade reader. Don't try to impress with pompous words such as "utilize." The shorter word is always better than the longer one. Always think "What's in it for them?"
- Use concrete, specific nouns and names. General references don't engage your readers' emotions. Let them see the size, color, and shape. Rather than say, "Write your book fast to make lifelong income," say "Write and finish your book fast so you can take that well-deserved vacation to the Virgin Islands. Give your reader their ideal picture, let them feel their emotions. Money alone doesn't motivate, but what we can do with it does.
- Let go of certain adverbs. Words like very, suddenly, and sparingly, tell instead of show. Use adverbs as often as you celebrate your birthday. Did this past sentence show, rather than tell? Your readers are hungry to experience feelings as well as picture themselves in your examples. Adverbs tell, don't show.
- Let go of adjectives. Let the noun make the statement. Instead of saying, She is a super-intelligent person," you could say, "She's a genius."
- Use the present or past tense of the verb rather than the "-ing" form of the verb. Instead of "she is singing," say, "she sings or she sang. Instead of "She had known her article was weak." Say, "She knew her article was weak."
Make your article noticed by thousands of readers. Remember your word choice does make a difference--both in commercial acceptance as well as audience understanding. Self editing will help. Get professional feedback on the final version of your article.
Do You Doubt the Power of Article Marketing?
Do you resist marketing? Are you a reluctant marketer because you are an introvert or it just doesn't seem natural? What happens when you don't do consistent marketing?
Maybe you don't feel comfortable with techie marketing. You've considered article marketing, but wonder do you have the time to do it, and you wonder what will you write?
One business client, Marian, came to me with a goal to increase client base by 7 each month, while maintaining her present seven clients. She was willing to try writing an article, but had her doubts abdout the power of article marketing. She had been stewing about "hiding out," watching her business go down. She came to me to try out article marketing.
I gave her an article marketing strategy, "What if you could write something right out of your case studies files? What if you just write a tip? Maybe just a few hundred words?" I asked her.
When you are a small business specialist, a coach for women, or a coach for men or other top entrepreneur, you have clients who come to you with problems that need solutions. I ask my client, "Why don't you write a "problem and solution" tip about one of your corporate business clients with speaking fear?" After you write five to ten articles you send them out to www.ezinearticles.com and other high traffic blogs. Every day people go there to get information on particular topics.
She hesitated, yet agreed that was doable and sent me her first effort for feedback..
Wanting to sleep, she wanted to honor her goal, so she hand wrote the article in bed. Which shows it's OK to hand write your articles first, then type them. You can too.
Marian did it her way and turned out an excellent article.
Marian's Aha's May Work For You Too
- I write articles well without much effort.
- I easily wrote a longer article from the original goal of a 200 word tip.
- A key word rich article title and coaching niche evolved with the coaching call.
- What I concluded was natural article marketing is easy and even fun. When you build it, clients will show up. All in one coaching session!
- I can leverage this one situation and solution tip/article to many audiences, including top entrepreneurs, women in business and corporate audiences.
When you think that you too can approach marketing the natural way, and put it into action each week or so, you'll discover many more targeted traffic unique visitors to your Web site, optimizing it in the search engines while educating your audience--two great results that build clients fast..

Article marketing as a form of Internet marketing is now an open secret and practically everyone has tried their hand at it. It's a great technique for me 'cause I can't sell to save my life. :)
For it to be effective nowadays, how many articles do you think one should write and submit?
