Introduction

You're thinking about starting an online business. Maybe you have an idea, a passion, or just a feeling that you've got to try out having an online business.

You've been bugging yourself to just do it, but you've been putting it off again and again. Maybe you think it's going to cost a ton of money. Maybe you're afraid of being caught in a scam. Maybe you think there is no way you can understand what you need to do, or even how to get started.

OK. I know what you are going through. I like to do things the right way, and I like things to succeed. Do it well or don't do it at all. "Failure is not an option."

But, there is another way to think about things. I heard it recently said that "Failure is a test Result." And, I'm here to tell you, that is a perfect way to look at things when contemplating an online business. What it means is, you can do things on the internet faster, cheaper, and with more help than probably anything else you've ever tried. And if it doesn't succeed...try again!

I'm trying to get across 2 huge points about creating an online business:

  1. You are not alone: You can find reliable sources for information, or you can join forums to talk to people on any subject or idea you have ever had. And, it's getting easier and easier to find that good "how to" information in any form you want: text, pictures, or videos.
  2. Work out a plan: Start with a simple plan and evolve it into a better one. If you're writing hubs or have written a book, it's the same sort of thing - you write and then re-write. And remember this also - failure is OK, and it's not going to cost a lot. And as was said above, failure can be a learning experience leading to greater things.

Well, once you have an idea and have worked up the momentum to DO and to ACT, what would be the steps from startup to global sales (or whatever your end goal)? This eBook will discuss starting and growing an online buiness in 3 phases. Let the acts begin. Here's a peek at the phases:

  1. Phase 1 - the Website: Taking your idea to the net. You might be looking for an affiliate website, a brochure website, or a website that grows to the top levels of the Google SERPs (Search Engine Results Pages). Will your online business plan be a slam dunk or an air ball? Take a look at the plan outline to learn about the important steps to consider. Jump to Online Business Roadmap - Phase 1.
  2. Phase 2 - Getting Traffic Immediately: Once your website is up and the startup phase is over, what to do next? Believe me, the game has just begun. Time to get the promotions out, the word out, and create a buzz. See the steps that outline the activities of this phase. Jump to Online Business Roadmap - Phase 2.

  3. Phase 3 - Getting consistent traffic now and into the future: I was talking with a customer recently who said they were spending over $15,000 per month on Pay Per Click ads. They wanted to move away from this spending, but they wanted to maintain a solution for current and future traffic. This brings us to Phase 3, Search Engine Optimization.
