Whether you are turning to online business incorporation or more traditional means of forming a corporation or an LLC, the steps and procedures that you go through are still basically the same.  The only real difference is in the convenience and affordability of the two methods.

The traditional means of incorporation can be a little expensive and require a lot more effort.  You must speak to a lawyer and do your own research on state laws and regulations.  And lawyers are well known to be an expense that most new businesses hope to avoid.  Online business incorporation, however, allows you to skip the lawyer fees and get incorporated for less than a couple hundred dollars.

Having said that, though, it is important to note that both the traditional and online methods of incorporation follow the same steps.  Just because the online method is new, that doesn’t mean that it is in any way unreliable.

First, you must choose your name.  It sounds simple and obvious, but when you legally incorporate there are some rules and regulations.  You must have the proper designation, it must not include any prohibited words, and it must not copy any other established name.

Next, you have to file the Articles of Organization.  This can be a tedious process with a lawyer, but with online business incorporation you can get it done by filling out a quick and simple questionnaire.  You will then have to create the LLC operating agreement, which is a set of rules about the ownership and operation of the company.

Finally, you must obtain all the licenses and permits required by the state to legally do business.

These steps are required of new corporations and LLCs whether you incorporate online or off.  But you can rest assured that either way you choose the right and proper methods will be followed.
