Online College

At 33 years old and a mother of three small children I have finally made the decision to take online courses.

I enrolled with University of Phoenix to get my Associates in Information Technology & Visual Communications. My first day of class is this coming Monday, April 28, 2008. I honestly feel like the new kid at a high school. I'm really nervous about it. I never failed any test I've ever taken so it's really not a fear of unable to achieve. It's more of a fear of being able to juggle one more watermelon!

I will always remember my father bringing home a Commodore 64 computer! Oh Boy! That was IT back then! He would give me a book with tons of codes to key and after two hours of keying with hopes I did it all right a small graphic would appear. I thought it was the coolest thing ever! My dad always told me to keep up with computers from then on knowing that it was my strength.

Well it only took 25 years or so for me to heed his advice and continue my computer education. I pray that my children follow their dreams and not allow for time to slip away.

I am anxious to begin this new journey in life. Why not begin yours now? There are so many options to obtain your education and create a stronger future for you and your family.

No more excuses!

Hi Michelle574,

I wish you a lot of success on your new educational journey. I started studying clinical psychology when I was 44 and finished 4 years later. If you watch TV or waste your time in other ways the years will pass you by as well. So you might consider doing something useful like you are. Information Technology & Visual Communications sounds quite interesting. It would be fun to read about your study experiences.
