Only 16% of Americans think the government is telling the truth about 9/11 but they're nearly doing anything ?

According to the new New York Times/CBS News poll, only 16% of Americans think the government is telling the truth about 9/11 and the intelligence prior to the attacks:

"Do you think members of the Bush Administration are telling the truth, are mostly telling the truth but hiding something, or are they mostly lying?

Telling the truth 16%

Hiding something 53%

Mostly lying 28%

Not sure 3%"

Nevertheless it is rather pathetic that millions of people would tolerate a president who tells lies in regard to something as horrific as nine eleven. It is heartening to know nearly 30 percent of Americans realize Bush and his neocon handlers are liars. But that said, it is disheartening to realize they are either unwilling or incapable of doing anything about it.

As well the leftists who could do something are just being fooled by their own political leaders who pretend that Irak's war was a Republican vote: this is a lie that is more dangerous than Bush's lies because people have the pre-conceived idea that democrats can't lie. What a joke ! John Edwards has lied about Irak and Hillary Clinton will serve the Military-Industrial Complex as she has always done in the past ... during the first Irak war ("What was Hillary Clinton doing at the head of the U.S. subsidiary of the French multinational Lafarge Corporation ?").

We, People, used to ask why the German didn't see Hitler coming. Well I wonder why we can't answer we just have to look ourselves in the mirror. We would feel out of our comfort zone. Indeed, Stirling is right, we have been trained and incited to do tactical criticism but restrained to do any fundamental criticism, this since mostly the day of the publication of Philip Dru: Administrator - A Story of Tomorrow: I suspect that, as revealed by this latter, the very head of Democratic party fundamentally serves as neutralizing agents and it's much easier for them today than in 1911 with all the medias technologies at their disposal.

Some people pretend that Bush lies is just a Conspiracy Theory. Well the burning of the Reichtag ordered by Hitler is still debated by Historians so it is still a Conspiracy Theory. Should we wait 50 or 100 years to assess the risk of a World Dictature emerging from the Bush and also Clinton's New World Order when it will be too late ? Yet there is a difference between the Reichstag and the WTC; in the first case there was no design written, in the second case the blue print has been written in black ink in the Grand Chessboard by Brzezinski - Rockefeller's agent and former National Security Advisor - and the Wolfowitz / Cheney PNAC which has borrowed from the first. It is as if a criminal would have confessed before commiting his act and so would be easy to condemn. It is unbelievable that no one, from the people to the journalists and politicians ever refers in debates to these two blue prints as undeniable proofs.

If one DOES want to do something about the complacency on this issue, thecounterpunch, what suggestions do you have for taking action on this matter?

It is obvious that far too many people are sitting on their hands, while they DO NOT TRUST what government relates about 9-11. People from other countries also look at the 9-11 even with a critical eye, disbelieving of the govt' accounts of events, etc. Other people - not just Americans - have a responsibility, at some point, to overcome complacency, don't you think? After all, other nations are still involved with the officials and individuals in the USA who were involved with presenting the 'facts' surrounding the 9-11 event...some extensive, long term issues goin' on here - not just in America!

Hi Teeray,

I'm very pleased you react, that's just what I wanted some would do :).

The question you asked "what suggestions do you have for taking action on this matter?" could apply well ... to me also. What I'm doing, apart from criticizing everybody for doing nothing and sound like I'm being self-righteous ? And yes I did and still do ask that question to myself.

I know it isn't simple answer for anybody and for me and you're also right it's not only the American People who are complacent but the French - I'm French - and all european people especially as they think they are more humanitarian and often criticized the United States as being imperialist. European Elites are also imperialist, the difference is it is invisible in appearance.

Since it's complex question, I can't answer straight away also as I said because I'm on the very process to think about it myself. When I will have succeded to introspect myself, I will make an other hub to answer to this question probably next week-end (during the week I don't feel like thinking because of work :) ).

Link is still down and I'd like to seee that hub as well.

I'm not sure enough Americans are willing to organize themselves in order to take action against the lies and misunderstandings.

I think it's natural: they have fear ... and they have a family. Nobody want to play a hero except the foolest one. But there maybe a solution and I will talk about it in a hub once I would have matured it a little bit :)
