World war one, the war with one memorial

Here is the "Liberty Memorial" I believe it is the only memorial to those who fought in world war 1, in the U.S. anyway. After much neglet, the final rehab of this amazing museum and memorial was finished just this year. It is located in Kansas city Missouri, and if you are ever nearby it is an excellent trip to make. Learn about World War I.

haha

This is a ww1 pic, ingeniuos use of teeter totter.

Your headline makes for an eye catcher, but it couldn't be more wrong. In Canada our National Cenotaph near Parliament Hill was built to commemorate WW1's losses. Our most famous memorial to WW1 is built on land deeded in perpetuity to Canada at Vimy Ridge in France.

Across this country almost every city, town and village have memorials built to commemorate the losses of WW1. In my own small community there are two momuments, one to WW1 and the second in the same town square to WW2 & Korea.

I believe you will find this is the same in many other countries.

Clicky on the link: The Sydney War memorial, to the dead in World War 1 situated in Hyde Park. Year completed: 1934

Just like the Canadians there are war memorials in almost every town and city in Australia. Both countries sacrificed a great deal in WW1.

A little research would go a long way.

Geez, he did say in the US. The Liberty Memorial is very nice. I remember going to it when I was in high school. It was the first I'd thought much about WWI and it was an eye-opening experience. I'm so glad they finally restored it.

Try a google image search for "wwI memorial". Here's a link to get you started, this is the WWI memorial in DC:

Here's another one across the river in Arlington national cemetary:

Here's one in Kansas (not Missouri, which is where Liberty Memorial is)

Here's one in Buffalo, NY:

There are more, but I think you get the idea. I grew up in KC and we went to the Liberty Memorial on field trips a couple of times. I remember being told it was the only one in the country, and yet I keep running into them everywhere.
