Just like the Canadians there are war memorials in almost every town and city in Australia. Both countries sacrificed a great deal in WW1.
A little research would go a long way.
If you read the article, I said "In the U.s. anyway", so my title was misleading, sorry. And God bless all soldiers that gave their lives in this conflict... Thats why I have you peole, to do my research for me, haha
good luck, God bless
Geez, he did say in the US. The Liberty Memorial is very nice. I remember going to it when I was in high school. It was the first I'd thought much about WWI and it was an eye-opening experience. I'm so glad they finally restored it.
Try a google image search for "wwI memorial". Here's a link to get you started, this is the WWI memorial in DC:

Here's another one across the river in Arlington national cemetary:

Here's one in Kansas (not Missouri, which is where Liberty Memorial is)

Here's one in Buffalo, NY:

There are more, but I think you get the idea. I grew up in KC and we went to the Liberty Memorial on field trips a couple of times. I remember being told it was the only one in the country, and yet I keep running into them everywhere.

Your headline makes for an eye catcher, but it couldn't be more wrong. In Canada our National Cenotaph near Parliament Hill was built to commemorate WW1's losses. Our most famous memorial to WW1 is built on land deeded in perpetuity to Canada at Vimy Ridge in France.
Across this country almost every city, town and village have memorials built to commemorate the losses of WW1. In my own small community there are two momuments, one to WW1 and the second in the same town square to WW2 & Korea.
I believe you will find this is the same in many other countries.
