Ooey Gooey Butter Cakes
This is one of those ultra simple, ultra quick recipes that is great to whip up real quick to take to a big get-together. I was given this recipe by a co-worker who made them several times to bring to work. Everyone loved them. The consistency of these is similar to a cookie bar.

Ooey Gooey Butter Cakes Recipe
- 1 box (18.25 oz) yellow cake mix
- 1 egg
- 1 stick of melted butter (4 ounces)
- 1 8 oz. package of cream cheese, softened
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 lb. of powdered sugar
- 1 stick of melted butter
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease a 13 x 9 baking dish.
Combine the cake mix, egg and 1 stick of butter and mix well with a hand mixer. Pat this mixture into the bottom of the pan and set it aside.
Beat the cream cheese, eggs and vanilla with the hand mixer. Dump the powdered sugar into the mixture beating it well. On a low speed, begin to pour in the final stick of melted butter.
Pour the filling over the cake mixture and spread evenly. Bake for about 30-35 minutes.
