You may have tried to cut down on your possessions, but if you find you'd like to keep the things you have, storage boxes can work wonders for you.
First, assess the areas in your home where you could put storage boxes. The location of your storage boxes will determine the type you need to buy. For example, if you want to use the space under your bed for storage, there are short storage boxes made especially to fit there. Some even have wheels to make it easier to get them in and out of that tight space. There are a huge variety of ways of storing items, from the wooden storage box, to the CD storage box ending up with the phot storage box. There are options available for every storage options.
Simple Storage Boxes
If putting storage boxes under your bed won't work for you, you can also put storage boxes in your closets. There is a variety of types of boxes available to fit in almost any closest. Think outside the box, as well-storage boxes advertised as "shoe boxes" can be great for bathroom closets, to hold toiletries and other items neatly. You can even assign one to each family member.
The Variety Of Storage Boxes
You may find, however, that your only option is to have the storage boxes in plain sight, not tucked away. But this doesn't mean you're stuck with ugly boxes full of things throughout your home. Vinyl storage boxes are available in a wide range of colors to match your decor. Different colors may also help you or your children get organized. You can assign a specific color for each type of item or for items belonging to each child. For a prettier, long-term storage solution, you can also use baskets as box storage. Wicker baskets can make even a stack of old magazines look neat and attractive. Wicker baskets are generally available in natural or white tones, but they can be painted to match your room.
Cardboard Storage Boxes
Finally, one of the cheapest and most versatile options is to use cardboard storage boxes. You can sometimes even get cardboard boxes for free from various stores, or use what you have on hand, such as diaper boxes. If your decor is constantly changing, just cover the plain cardboard with a coordinating solid color wrapping paper. Changing the box's look is then as simple as putting different wrapping paper on. If you won't be changing the decor often, you can also decoupage the storage box. Decoupage floral or other motifs on the box for a pretty, more permanent solution. Teens may enjoy cardboard storage boxes decoupaged with pictures of their favorite singer or actor, or a memory box decoupaged with pictures of themselves and their friends.
The problem of having too much stuff and not enough space is easily solved with storage boxes, as you can see. You will be able to relax and enjoy your neater, clutter-free home, and also be able to keep the clutter at bay without sacrificing your home's beauty.
