3 of 3 people found the following review helpful: 5.0 out of 5 stars, I totally love the HD72 (HD6800), 18 April 2007 With Modrnknght (Hollywood, CA United States of America) - all my reviews I had a Optoma H27, but it was a little I like the brightness on television, and I have heard that HD72 was much better. So I came back to my H27 Costco and got the HD6800, the Costco version of the HD72. Wow, "a lot better" hardly describes it! The brightness is unbelievable, and the detail and the colors are truly remarkable. The other night, I have tried various DVDs, just to see what it looked like on the new system, and I was totally blown away.

While upscale DVD images for better on his system, I also bought a Sony DVD upscaling player, and there is a significant improvement with the HDMI connector. I have read that they are both upscaling, the DVD player upscaling would not be necessary, but I think the picture by the increase in DVD best in a side-by-side test with two Sony DVD player and two DVDs of the recently restored "Carousel" using component, S-Video, HDMI and in the same time, all with the HD72. I saw more clearly detail on faces from the HDMI upscaling DVD player.

I was so impressed that I felt like pulling in people from the street to see, but I fought the impulse, because I do not want to share them with anyone.

With a little fine-tuning of the menu, new films like "Star Wars III" and "Sin City" showed incredible detail, and older films such as "The Adventures of Robin Hood" were in their beautiful Technicolor glory.

I commend the HD72.
