Optoma TX1080 Projector Review

Advantages: attractive, glossy, white finish. Low fan noise in Econo-mode. 4000 hours lamp life on the big Econo then most projectors! Remained clear enough on the economy use with lights turned on in the room. In the dark, it looks just amazing!

1080p content looks very good. Blu-ray played from the PS3 look amazing. I watched Kung Fu Panda and was "Wowed" by what you can see a much larger screen.

Video games look amazing. Worked well with the PS3 and 360. You get a huge advantage over other players when you see them away before they can actually see you on a regular HDTV. All this of course depends on the size of the screen you are using.

Automatic features that you can close the match. The default is 15 minutes. Automatically turn off the projector after the signal is not recognized for "XX amount of minutes.

A lot of adjustment options brightness, contrast, sharpness, etc. All you find in the current HDTV looks setting you can change here.

Weaknesses: Once used to using a Samsung 46 "TV model LN46A650, and then this goes, I noticed the black level difference. You will not get the deep blacks with a projector that you can on a good HDTV, but thank God it did not ruin the experience. Detail Black level is there, which is good, it just does not produce enough - black. It's more of a very dark shade of gray.

Auto-focus could be a nice option. No big deal if you get it mounted projector and will never move it. You can just find the right place to leave it there. I have mine still did not occur, so I have to move it often reinstall your focus manually.
