A Limited Podwork Orange

There was once a rather quirky English film called “A Clockwork Orange”. It was not as odd, however, as the concept of the Orange Zune, which doesn’t seem to be a good idea even if Halloween is just around the corner (sort of). Just as there are teens, preteens and tweens to contend with, now we have a new sort of semi generation of students between the ages of 18-22 known as “zuners.” These students are not categorized by how well they do in school, but rather by how well they “hit the scene” and attend or suggest hip “zuney “events while carrying along their limited edition Orange Zune and related zune apparel such as tea shirts, hats and messenger bags.

The Pink Zune is a limited edition too and it is barely cold, much less cool. Now there’s this orange music player, which is hoped will free us from the mundane and thinking only within neutral-colored boxes. One of these Orange Zunes was offered for sale at eBay starting at $750 dollars plus a shipping charge of twenty dollars. The auction ran for twenty-four hours without a single bid. One might think that this would have sent a kind of message to Microsoft about the concept of limited editions; namely, “Hey, fellas, there has to be a limit on them”.

Come and get your red-hot limited edition Orange Zunes now if you can find them. If you are really interested in limited editions, I would like to tell you about a bridge I heard was for sale but for a limited time only. It connects Brooklyn, New York with Staten Island. If you are interested, give me a call and I will see what I can do.

“Fly me to the Orange Zune” may never be a battle cry for the eternally hip souls among us, but the music player may last for a little while. (Never at $750 bucks a pop though.)
