Orlando Vacation Guide
66Once again, my family and I are off to Orlando for a fun filled Vacation. I remember the first time we went. We were excited to visit Disney and didn't realize the other awesome things Orlando had to offer so I thought I would put this hub together detailing the things you can do in Orlando!
Although the madness of an Orlando vacation might seem scary at times with the number of theme parks to visit, this city has more for the visitor if they want something a little different. Orlando also has markets, shows, art galleries, exhibitions, beautiful lakes and parks, all easily available for the visitor who wants something a little different. Whilst many people that visit are first timers, more are returning for their second, third or more time as there is always something new to see.
If you enjoy shopping then you will love Orlando; it has plenty of malls and stores like Outdoor World which is so large it contains a 17,000 gallon aquarium and you could spend all day there. This article highlights some of the other visitor attractions that you could see on an Orlando vacation which are not as well publicized as the theme parks but are equal in their ability to please.
Let's Dig Right In
To start, there is the Central Florida Zoo which draws huge crowds all year round and has over four hundred animals there although it is was only granted this status in 1975. Even though it is privately owned, it is run by a charitable group with the intention of providing classes for children and protecting species that are only found in Florida and other world wide exotic animals.
You may have heard of the name Tiffany's but did you know that it was way back in 1942 that the Morse Museum in Winter Park that started displaying the collections of Louis Tiffany. Tiffany glass, clayware and ornaments are all on display here including a specially designed chapel interior shown at the Columbian Exposition back in 1893.
Orlando Is For Everyone!
Orlando is certainly a city for all age groups and not solely designed for the amusement of children as family and adult attractions are in equal numbers. For the young at heart, Orlando vacations aim to please with extensive evening venues including music and dance at Disney's incredible Pleasure Island and Universals version, City walk, to name just a couple of places.
Another popular attraction is the Orlando Science Center and is in fact one of the largest buildings of its type allowing the visitor access to ten huge exhibition halls. If your preference is in railways then the International Trolley and Train Museum on International drive will be a pleasant surprise with 14 trains running continuously and three waterfalls in a space of about 4,000 square feet.
Other Awesome Sites
The Titanic - Ship of Dreams Exhibition can also be found along International Drive; this is a moving, often eerie depiction of the great Ocean Liner with a tour guide depicting a character from the ship with many original items on display. Of course if you prefer something more relaxing then you should visit Lake Eola Park, situated in the heart of downtown; this is the city's main attraction with 43 acres of beautiful sidewalks and a boating lake.
Now you couldn't possibly visit Orlando without a trip to the numerous theme parks including Disney World, Universal Studios and of course not to forget the fantastic Seaworld. Everything you need for your vacation is in Orlando; a place that's open all year round but if you want to escape huge crowds then avoid the holiday seasons, in particular Easter and Christmas.
I hope this has helped you realize the awesome things Orlando has to offer! If you have any questions please let me know :-)

Great Hub!!!!
I've lived in Orlando for many years, just moved back to the beach, but it's nice to see someone informing folks about Orlando's other side. Disney has made it such that people don't have to actually leave the property. This makes the vacationer with what I'll call, 'theme park -itis'....Orlando does have so many great thing to do.
Word to all -- check out everything in Orlando and you won't regret it. Also check out the Orlando Science Center. I am in no way affiliated with them, just offering up some suggestions for new-comers and vacationers. Enjoy!!!
