Osteoporosis is a loss of bone tissue. Normal bones contain a series of thin, intersecting plates surrounded by a dense shell. In case of osteoporosis, the plates become filled with holes or may even disappear completely. The shell often becomes thinner as well.

This disease occurs mainly in women since they have 30% less bone mass. It occur beginning at the age of 40 and affects approximately 25% of post menopausal women. The bone become extremely fragile, and it may even break even with a minor injury. Osteoporosis takes years to develop.

Do not stop taking calcium after the age of 40 years especially if you are a woman.

Symptoms of Osteoporosis:

  • Bones that are easily fractured
  • Pain around the bone
  • Reduction of the bone height

Causes of Osteoporosis:

  • An inability to absorb enough calcium through the intestine
  • An imbalance of phosphorus and calcium
  • An estrogen deficiency (hormone) in women
  • Hormonal Diseases
  • Local injury
  • Aging
  • A lack of exercise
  • A lack of vitamin D which is required to absorb calcium

Recommended Treatments for Osteoporosis:

  • A diet rich in minerals and vitamins.
  • Dairy products such as milk, cheese and yogurt contain a lot of calcium.

Recommended Vitamin, Minerals and Food Supplements :

  • Multi-minerals
  • Vitamin C (180 mg.)
  • Beta carotene (A- 10,000 IU)
  • Vitamin E (400 IU)
  • Vitamin D, Milk, Aloe vera juice, Nutritional drink
  • Calcium, Magnesium, Phosphorus, Boron
