Outdoor Lamps
77Your outdoor room will not be finished until you have accessorized it properly and one of the things that can make an outdoor area is the lighting. There are many options for outdoor lighting from outdoor table lamps to deck lighting schemes or candle lanterns. Whichever way you choose to go; lighting your deck or patio will provide an effective finish to your decor, and enhance any social gatherings you have.
Outdoor lamps can be weatherproof lamps that plug into the electricity supply (via weatherproof cables into a power point inside) or they can be outdoor solar lamps (powered by the sun!), or even outdoor hurricane lamps or candle lanterns. An outdoor lamp post can be positioned strategically in your yard as well as other kinds of lighting.
Outdoor Table Lamps
An outdoor table lamp, can be placed on your outside table and easily turned on when it gets dark. It you choose to have a weatherproof electric table lamp, make sure that the cable and the lamp are both able to take all the weather conditions especially wet weather. There are some interesting designs for table lamps including wrought iron outdoor lamps. Wrought iron is popular for lighting as it adds a touch of elegance whilst still fitting in with the outdoor natural setting.
Outdoor Floor Lamp
An outdoor floor lamp can complement the table light and add style to your outdoor patio. All outdoor lights should be made with weather resistant materials. Shades should be able to withstand the sun as well as the rain, preferably mildew and mold resistant and be washable. All power cords should be grounded with long cords. The bases of outdoor floor lamps should be weighted to withstand any wind effects and for extra stability.
Outdoor Heat Lamps
For any yard areas to be used to its maximum potential a patio heater is a must. A yard heater can extend the time you spend outside and increase your enjoyment of that time. Outdoor heat lamps can provide the heat with an interesting light effect. These kinds of heaters are usually gas or propane which will give off an orange glow when lit. These light effects can be quite stunning as well as warming on a cool evening.
Outdoor Solar Lamps
Solar is becoming more popular every day. There is no need for wires or cables. You can place the solar outdoor lamp wherever you like, as long as the solar receiver gets full sun. They will also turn on when the sun goes down automatically. This makes for a very easy option, no extra cost, very safe and long lasting.
