Sitting in your patio, by your pool and even outside your backyard is a very relaxing experience that you may do, particularly during the warm climate and summer season. But how can you enjoy the outdoors if you are not comfortable? Getting an outdoor pillow might help.

    However, shopping for one can be stressful. There are several different kinds of pillows and many different names.  Some call these outdoor throw pillows while others refer to them as outdoor toss pillows.  Not only do you have to devote time in finding the design you want, you will have to spend a bit for them just to get the comfort you want. Why spend if you can make one? Yes, you can make your own outdoor pillows and cushions for your outdoor furniture. Here are the required steps to create your own. This is easier and cheaper at the same time.

    The first thing to do is to measure the pillow size you desire. You may trace your old pillows to determine what pillow size you would want. Make sure that the pillow size is appropriate for your outdoor furniture.

Then, create a template. To do this, you may use a measuring stick and notes or, once again, by tracing a n existing pillow onto a piece of cardboard or paper. The appearance is not that important so no need to be too fancy. As a matter of fact, even an ordinary newspaper will do just fine. The template should at least be 1" plus the depth of the finished pillow wider than the pillow size that you want so there will be room for the stuffing and hem.

    Next thing that you should do is lay out the vinyl tablecloth on a flat surface, with the front side facing downwards. Then, lay the template you created previously on the top of the vinyl tablecloth. Then, trace the template. Be sure to watch the placing, so that you can save some tablecloth for future use to make more outdoor furniture pillows.

Cut out the template that you produced. Ensure that you get two out of each template with one for each side. Lay down the tablecloth pieces altogether, with the right sides facing other. Sew it up with the use of a heavy-duty thread or even light fishing line along the three sides. You may sew it all up apart from a small area if you are looking to stuff in some fillings inside the cloth

It is possible to create several different types of outdoor fabric pillows. On the part that is not sewn, insert anything - from stuffing, foam or even other fillings from old pillows that you do not use anymore. When you think the filling is enough, you may sew the hole using nice stitches.

Some more experienced people can produce better sewing patterns such as adding piping to the edges of the outdoor throw pillow. But if you are not that familiar with sewing, then two simple shapes that are sewn together will do just fine. And there you have your personal outdoor throw pillows.
