Outside the Box or Inside the Circle
66OutsideBoxInsideCircle
It is easy to say that people are categorized in one group vs. the another based on their gender, race or religion but I see a simpler grouping methodology. I think it all comes down to the words and the actions of each individual. From my perspective, the thoughts and actions of every person places them in a specific group regardless of any other factor. For the purpose of this article, and only my opinion, let us say that two groups of people exist - the majority group and the others group.
The Majority Group:
The majority group consists of the people who think similar and act the same when put into the same situations as each other. The others group consists of people who sometimes think similar and sometimes act the same as others.
To break these groups down further, the majority group can also be considered a circle. If you drew a circle around a finite number of people, there is a high probability that the majority of them will act and think the same. The people inside the circle have a tendency to treat everyone else, in the circle, as a clone of themselves while they also view the people outside the circle as different. This philosophy develops an "inside the box" thought process which prevents the mind from opening up to people or things outside the group or circle.
The Others Group:
If you are familiar with the phrase "outside the box" then this is the perfect analogy to describe the others group as they are standing outside of the circle looking in. The people inside the others group have a tendency to treat everyone, inside or outside the circle, as the same because they understand what it is like to be treated differently. This philosophy is more open minded and develops the "outside the box" thought process which helps the mind to open up to all people and groups.
The Conclusion:
The observations presented here are how I see the world and represents my thought process. In case you were wondering, I consider myself to be in the others group and an "outside the box" thinker. It is easy for me to step "inside the circle" (to gain the perspective of the majority group) but seemingly difficult for a person to step outside of the circle to think "outside the box" (to gain the perspective of the others group). So, whether you are inside the circle or outside of the box there should be considerable thought and conscious fairness that every group consists of people that should be treated the same.

I really enjoyed this short but sweet hub. I am like you, outside the box but try to see all perspectives.
