Outsourcing IT work

So you have a great Idea?, but aren't a coding whiz?

Well fortunately the web has made it much easier to hire people doing your IT work for you.

First some things you should keep in mind before you send a project.

1. Be as clear as you can, make fireworks images for the programmers to visualize what you visualize.

If you don't know fireworks, go on lynda.com pay for a month and download the Training.

I learned it in 2 weeks.

Get every function you want on your list, describe them carefully and make sure there is no way your new staff won't understand them.

2. Browse and ask around, how much should you pay for what? How long should it take for something to be done?

3. Be willing to pay for quality and time.

If you're clear about that to, you can set a deadline which is important.

Now after these to points you can actually start looking for people.

No.  1  Site is definitely elance.com

Here you can find all kinds of experts in programming design and logo making,

Look for people with 4.0 Feedback or higher, there is plenty and they usually do a great job for a reasonable price.

You don't always have to post a job, the best companies and individuals on elance don't hunt for projects anymore they usually got a fixed client base, that they have from previous partners.

So just look up the profiles with the highest feedback and inquire with them.

Scriptlance.com is like elance just more programming based, i think there is an awfull lot of newbs there too.

However it's more individual programmers than companies here, don't worry most jobs don't require more than one person.

Here you should also look for the people with the best feedback just to make sure,

You can give a newb a try if it's not so urgent. You'd like a chance to no?

getafreelancer.com/

same thing here again. There is more variety in the kinds of programmers and lots of specialists here.

But in the big picture, same as the above to.

You can look on ebay to, but i'd choose the sites above.

If you know design or programming already there is a site for you that has just launched

programmermeetdesigner.com ( don't worry I'll include valid links of all pages at the bottom )

So I have one last tip and some site suggestions,

Tip, Go and get a open source script first, you can buy one as well but open source is for free, and the scripts are usually highly customizable, sourceforge.org is the main site for these scripts.

If you have a script a programmer can build upon he can be finished much faster and do it for less money.

You'd also have some kinda guidline.

php.resourceindex.com/Complete_Scripts/ I also like to browse this site for new scripts.

I guess I have to mention Hotscript.com I don't use it, so that's to that.

A suggestion, buy an ebook learn some php and html if you don't know it yet, it's usefull, if you have some insight in what it takes to realize something you'll add more credibility to yourself as a client.
