Herpes Treatment Today

What is the advantage of over the counter herpes treatment? Herpes cannot be cured, at least not today. But it can be treated to minimize or even eliminate its effects that they will not appear for long time. The purpose of treatment is to provide relief from the symptoms caused by the disease. This is especially true for the herpes treatment.

The cause of herpes is the Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV), which comes in two types: HSV-1 and HSV-2; first one produces oral herpes also known as cold sores; the second is the cause of genital herpes.

The most severe is the first indication of herpes: blisters and open sores materialize with agony as the disease progresses; there is a strong itching in the infected area. During genital herpes there may be a burning feeling when one urinates.

When the severe case of first herpes occurs, person will experience headache accompanied by fever, swollen, tender lymph nodes in the groin, chills and flu-like symptoms such as aching joints and general cheap feeling.

If you notice these signs in yourself you should immediately contact a physician to learn more about your options of proper treatment and prevent herpes transmission. Generally all the options fall into one of the two categories: prescription herpes medicines and over the counter herpes treatment remedies. Today's trend is to buy the latter because people realize more and more the benefit of using natural herpes cures. Of course often the price plays an important role in their choice, as the OTC treatments for herpes are a lot cheaper than common pharmaceutical remedies.

So is the natural treatment for herpes effective? Or how can we judge the effectiveness of a particular remedy? Actually such thing is bit relative, because it largely depends on person's tolerance or resistance towards that certain medicine, on the current state or extent of the damage caused by the infection, on the current bodily situation i.e. what is his or her health condition at the moment.

Over-the-counter drugs can be purchased even without prescription from a doctor per se, which makes them very popular. These medicines all passed a minimum safety requirement, that's why it is safe to sell them without any prescription. But still you need to consult with your doctor to find out what herpes cure will be the best for you.

There are two main forms of remedies for herpes treatment over the counter: supplements and topical serums. Those ingredients contained in herpes supplements can suppress the virus while increasing the immune system. Supplements will work better if you take them not simply on their own, but along with that try to improve your lifestyle in general, i.e. eat better, healthier food, exercise regularly, quit smoking, drinking alcohol and other harmful activities.

Using a topical solution such as a spray, gel, or cream has both positive and negative attributes. The positive thing is that when you use a topical solution for curing herpes outbreak, you can get positive results and maybe even very soon; the negative side of topical remedies is that they only reduce current outbreaks, but usually cannot stop virus from producing future outbreaks.

Some other natural remedies include Tea tree, Aloe Vera, and some other. Actually the best way to prevent herpes outbreaks is to adapt your life to the situation a little bit. It shouldn't sound frightening, because all you need to do is to make a step forward to the healthier life. This includes eating more fresh and whole foods, like vegetables, fruits, grains; try to minimize too acidic foods, as the acidic environment is very comfortable for herpes virus multiplying. You should exercise and drink 6-8 glasses of water everyday.

Of course you still can help yourself by the means of over the counter herpes treatment. Dynamiclear, Tylenol, Datril, or Panadol, also Advil, Medipren, Motrin, Nuprin can help you fight the symptoms of the current outbreak. Just remember that it is you who actually can do something about your condition; other means and methods should only help you achieve that.

You might suggest people try over-the-counter fungicides like Tinactin and Lotrimin.

I have nothing to gain from this suggestion because I do not own stock in either so when I say try them it is because they are more effective than any prescription drug or herpes over-the-counter products not because they kill herpes but because they kill fungus and killing fungus is the most effective means of stopping sores said to be caused by herpes.

This statement is so easy to prove or rebuke with an eight dollar can of spray or tube of cream.
