One of the biggest fears we have as people is standing in front of other people, and making an idiot of ourselfs. We are even more afraid of this than death itself.

The biggest issue I believe is that we have this little voice going crazy in our head, telling us that we're going to look stupid, that we're not good enough, that the people wont listen to me etc.

So, here's a crazy way of overcoming this fear. You actually reprogram yourself to look forward to the event of public speaking. I've used this technique for many of my fears, and I always find it works wonders on any fears. Things like making that call that you don't want to, having to confront somebody over something or basically any other fear out there.

The reason I like this technique so much, is that in a few minutes it can change you around, and lift your energy so much higher. And that alone can make your confidence soar and help your delivery be much more powerful.

A few days before the event, start doing the following. Preferably do this alone, as people might think you're crazy if you do it in a public place.

Step 1: Close you eyes, and imagine you're at the event where you need to speak. You want to imagine that you're up and walking up to the podium. Imagine the crowd sitting there, waiting for you to speak.

Step 2: Get in touch with those feelings of nervousness and fear. You're really trying to live yourself in the situation. And when you can feel the pit in your stomach, jump to Step 3

Step 3: Now Celebrate. Go crazy, like you're celebrating new years or a party or a goal scored. You want to flap your arms above you and go Yeah. This reprograms the wiring in your mind and gets that little voice to change it's tune.

Now repeat this process a about 10 times a day. The more you do it, the more your mind is being reprogrammed to actually celebrate this fear. And you'll find that you're actually start looking forward to get on the stage, and go for it. You'll still feel nervous, but it will be more like excitement than fear.

I'd also recommend you do this before the event, but you must do it a as often as possible before. The more you do it, the stronger it becomes

I got this little voice management method from Blaire Singer (Sales Doggs and Poor Dad Rich Dad Advisor) off his Little voice management series. If you ever have the chance to go on his sales and leadership training, grab it
