For a great multitude of new dog owners, owning a golden retriever has always been a dream. And why not? Nowadays you see them in various cartoons, ads and movies. The most recent of which of course is Pixar's overwhelmingly cute film "UP." Dugg the Talking Dog. Familiar with him? Cute isn't he? How can anyone not like him? But really, I believe that I am one with most potential dog owners as well as with some current dog owners (since people have different preferences in terms of breed) when I say that the Golden Retriever has always been a breed of class and cuteness. But what exactly makes owning a golden retriever so special? What really makes this breed attractive to most people?

Well for one thing, owning a golden receiver is a very enjoyable experience since the breed is indeed very trainable. I mean, it doesn't take much to teach the breed a plethora of tricks. Sit, stay, fetch, heel. These are easy tricks that your pet can pick up quite easily. Trust me, a pat on the head, or a simple snack is enough to motivate your golden retriever to perform feats of note. In addition, the breed relatively doesn't require much maintenance in terms of grooming requirements (compared to a chow chow for example). Combing it and spraying your pet with anti-tick/flea powder once a day will be enough to guarantee a happy and healthy canine companion.
