Oyster Recipe

Are you passionate about Oysters? I am. I love the taste of oysters. For many years I only ate fresh oysters. Believing that was the best way to enjoy them. I still think it rates at the top of the list, but there are many good oyster recipes out there so that we all can enjoy oysters year round. A good oyster recipe will bring out the best of the oyster flavor.

I have tried many varieties including Wellfleet, Kumamoto, Malpeque, Hama Hama, Blue Point, and Barron point just to name a few. The thing I maybe love most about oysters is not only do they vary by type but also by location and season. The Breton Sound Oyster from Louisiana can be different depending on the level of the water in their habitat. This just adds to the excitement of eating oysters again and again.

When I first started thinking about how to expand my oyster universe I was somewhat hesitant that an oyster recipe would kill the flavor I so enjoyed with fresh oysters. How wrong I was, but how right I was. The cooked oyster is certainly different from the fresh oyster, but oh my can you have some good flavor added to your food menu.

Whether it is an oyster Po'Boy sandwich, Oyster Rockefeller, Oyster Stew, Oyster Stuffing or any number of other uses, the oyster is a versatile staple food for my kitchen. I even have an oyster dip recipe I really enjoy. But sometimes I enjoy grilled oysters just as much as a fresh one!

Do yourself a favor and look into having oysters not just fresh but in the many recipes that are available and make the oyster so versatile. Just grab an Oyster Recipe and get started, it will open up a new world of flavor.
